Eva Grover, who rose to fame with her negative role in Ekta Kapoor's hit serial, Bade Acche Lagte Hain, first time talked about her abusive marriage with Aamir Khan's step-brother, Hyder Ali Khan. While it was an inter-religious marriage, and her parents were against it, Eva suffered a lot during the five years of marital life. In an interview with Unfiltered Coffee, she shared her bitter marital life and how, within three to four days, she saw the real face of the man she married.
Eva reflected on her scary marriage and admitted that she made a mistake by getting into a relationship with Hyder. However, she did her best to make the marriage work. All she wanted was a happy marriage life with a loving husband, but she got the opposite. Eva further revealed that she eloped and married to Hyder within eighteen days of falling in love, and her mother was against it. She said:
"We eloped and got married in just 18 days. My mother didn’t want me to marry him because it was an inter-faith relationship. But by the fourth day, I realized marriage wasn’t what I thought it would be."
Eva further shared that her marriage lasted for five years, and was filled with a lot of difficulties. She did her best to save her marriage and even had a child, hoping things would be better, but nothing worked out. Eva added that he wasn't mature enough to handle a marriage. Eva even called it an abusive marriage.
Further in the podcast, Eva revealed that her daughter was with her until she was three years old. She was singlehandedly taking care of her. But one day, her mother gave her daughter away to her ex-sister-in-law. Eva wasn't able to say much as she was scared of her mother during that time. Eva further added that her daughter still lives with them and remembers everything. Eva also added that she has often helped her ex-husband's family financially.
Eva also shared that it was Salman Khan helped her in those tumultuous time. She stated that he offered her Bigg Boss and told her that if she did, then she wouldn't have to do anything. Salman was the one who took her in the film, Ready. However, she declined his offer to Bigg Boss as she wasn't ready at that time. She said:
“Salman was very supportive at that time. In fact, he offered me the opportunity to come on the Bigg Boss show. People from his end actually told me that all I had to do was to be part of it, and they’ll ensure I’d be there for a long time. But I wasn’t able to do it.”
Well, Eva's journey has been extremely difficult and she is definitely an inspiration for everyone!
