Farha Naaz had a successful Bollywood career before marrying Vindu Dara Singh. After their split, she found her new love and returned to acting.
Bollywood actress Farha Naaz often found herself in the shadow of her younger sister, Tabu. However, Farha enjoyed a steady career well into the mid-1990s and carved her own path in the industry. While she didn’t achieve the same level of fame, her trailblazing career was remarkable in its own right.
Her debut with a major production quickly positioned her as a rising star, especially after her lead role in Faasle only at the age of 17. With successful films like Imaandar, Naseeb Apna Apna, and Yateem under her belt, Farha eventually stepped away from acting following her marriage. She struggled to handle the fame and popularity at such a young age. Soon, rumours about her liaisons with an assistant director spread throughout the Bollywood film industry.
Due to the intensity of the affair, other directors and production houses began to assume that Farha would marry in such a young age which made them apprehensive about casting her in their movies. Farha’s career suffered as a result of this even though she never officially acknowledged the relationship. The risk of casting an actress who might leave the film at any point was too great for anyone to take. She quickly ended their relationship and moved on.
Farha Naaz first met Vindu Dara Singh on a movie shoot in the nineties. The two fell in love with each other immediately and started dating. Their families disapproved of their relationship. Farha's mother wanted a successful partner for her daughter while Vindu Dara Singh's father preferred a traditional wife for his son. Unable to change their parents' minds, the couple decided to split up.
They decided not to talk to each other after the split. Vindu soon left for Tamil Nadu for a film shoot where there was no mode of communication. When Farha and Vindu couldn't talk to each other for days, that is when they realised that they cannot live away from each other. Once Vindu returned, the couple decided to get married, and their parents gave in. In 1996, Vindu and Farha tied the knot. The incredibly romantic couple gave birth to their first child, a boy named, Fateh, in 1997.
Their irreconcilable disagreements soon caused their marriage to falter. By 2002, Vindu and Farha had split. Vindu quickly moved on, falling in love again with model-turned-entrepreneur, Dina Umarova. Their connection blossomed, leading to a whirlwind romance. In 2005, they exchanged vows, marking a new chapter in Vindu's life filled with hope and promise.
In a previous interview with ETimes, Vindu Dara Singh shared information about his first wife, Farha Naaz, and the reason behind their divorce for the first time. Vindu revealed that there was more than one factor that led to his divorce from Farha, comparing the circumstances to that of a cooker.
Vindu Dara Singh noted that their conflicts and marital issues had intensified over time, prompting their decision to part ways. Nevertheless, he expressed his hope that they would remain friends despite the challenges. Subsequently, he talked about his encounters and get-togethers with Farha Naaz after their divorce. Even though they don’t eat together, Vindu mentioned that they do send each other holiday greetings. The devoted father had further stated that they are one when it comes to his son, Fateh.
The pair got married in 2003 and have been living together with Fateh, the son of Farha and Vindu. Sumeet's support has helped Farha return to acting, and she has taken on leading roles in films like Shikhar and Hulchul. Additionally, Sumeet's daughter from his first marriage with Shaheen, Sayyeshaa Saigal, also lives with them. Blended families can create unique and supportive environments, showcasing love and collaboration among all members.
