However sad and painful separation is, it sometimes becomes mandatory. This is exactly the case with Farhan Akhtar and Adhuna Bhabani. After staying married for 16 long years, this power couple had filed for divorce in 2016. Both Farhan and Adhuna have been very mature about the divorce. There has been no bad blood between them ever, and they have been on very cordial terms since the filing of their divorce in October 2016.

Now, after almost 6 months of submitting their divorce application, the Bandra family court has granted them their divorce. The couple had a few mandatory counselling sessions in the past 6 months, but they decided to go ahead with the separation. The case was called out twice in the court, but neither Farhan nor Adhuna were present for the hearing on Monday, April 24, 2017.

Later on the same day, they both appeared in court with their respective lawyers and straight away went to the principal marriage counsellor, VS Athavale. Shortly afterwards, they went to judge MM Thakare, who granted them the divorce. According to reports, the custody of both their daughters, Akira and Shakya is with Adhuna. Farhan is free to visit them whenever he wants.
Farhan’s lawyers Fazaa Shroff-Garg confirmed the divorce news when she said:
“The divorce by mutual consent was allowed by the family court in Bandra.”
On the work front, Adhuna who is the owner of the ‘B-Blunt’ salon chain, is looking to expand. Farhan is working on two films, including Lucknow Central. Even in their personal lives, both Adhuna and Farhan have moved on. While Farhan is reportedly dating Shraddha Kapoor, Adhuna has found her dream guy in Dino Morea’s brother, Nicolo Morea.
