Flying Beast aka Gaurav Taneja, recently appeared on 'Shark Tank India Season 4' to pitch his fitness whey protein brand, Beast Life.
Shark Tank India Season 4 is all set to hit the floors on January 6, 2025. The stage will showcase the most talented entrepreneurs from all over the country as they try to get investment for their businesses. Over the years, the show has become a much-beloved business reality television series, and the released teasers have the audience intrigued. The show will be filled with lighthearted banter, drama, and some incredible brand deals, with the expectations of the viewers on a new high.
After Gaurav Taneja revealed the sales of his company, co-founder Snapdeal, Kunal Bahl was intrigued to know about his background. He asked the YouTuber, why he chose this line of work, which is in contrast to his academic qualifications. He asked Gaurav what prompted his trajectory to be so different from other IIT-ians who generally go to Google, Facebook or start-ups.
Founder of Boat, Aman Gupta chimed in and shared how many influencers are floating brands these days. Peyush Bansal, co-founder and CEO of Lenskart, further asked how much an influencer can make in this age and time. Vineeta Singh, however, asked the question everyone was thinking about. She asked Gaurav, "You earned Rs 1 crore in 1 hour, then what are you doing here asking for Rs 1 crore?" Even though the promo ends on a cliffhanger and leaves the viewers wondering if 'Flying Beast' got the deal, he was heard answering shark, Vineeta:
"Just like the 'Beast' in the name 'Beast Life', my everything is in this. If this fails, I can’t create another one (brand). This is my life."
The Shark Tank India Season 4 makers shared another promo video with the CEO and co-founder of Sugar cosmetics, Vineeta Singh, asking about the next contestant. Responding to Vineeta, co-founder of Snapdeal, Kunal Bahl revealed that it was, 'Flying Beast, the influencer.' Surprised by Kunal's revelation, Vineeta asked, 'Gaurav Taneja?! He’s coming?' Soon after, Gaurav Taneja was seen entering the stage. He opened his pitch with:
"Sharks, these days, all founders want to become influencers. Don’t know where they get the urge from."
Gaurav Taneja introduced Beast Life and explained that his brand is not just a health and supplement brand but a 'healthy way of life.' During the pitch, Gaurav Taneja's partner claimed that Beast Life had generated Rs. 1 crore in sales within just one hour of its launch. The statement stunned the sharks. While, co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer of electronics brand, boAt Lifestyle, Aman Gupta, called it the dream, it was their investment ask that left everyone speechless. Concluding his pitch, Gaurav asked for:
"Rs 1 crore for 1 per cent of equity."
