In a throwback interview, Gauri Khan talked about changing Shah Rukh Khan's name to Abhinav to make her parents believe that he is a Hindu.
Shah Rukh Khan is definitely the King of romance, but his wife, Gauri Khan, is the queen of designs. Yes, the star wife has carved a path for herself and is now one of the biggest brands in the world of home design. She is a high-end designer who has designed spaces for Mukesh Ambani, Roberto Cavalli, Ralph Lauren, Karan Johar, and many others.
Apart from ruling the architectural world, Gauri also rules the heart of Shah Rukh Khan. SRK was just 18 when he fell in love with the gorgeous Gauri Chibber. She is the only woman he ever dated, and she is Gauri. Since their first meeting at a party, he has been sure she will be his wife. After a lot of ups and downs, Shah Rukh and Gauri got married in 1991. Together, they are parents to three adorable kids, Aryan, Suhana and AbRam.

In a throwback interview with Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla on their show, First Ladies, Gauri Khan spoke about the hurdles they faced during their wedding. Revealing how she changed Shah Rukh’s name to Abhinav to make her parents believe that he is a Hindu boy, Gauri shared:
“We changed his name to Abhinav so they feel he is a Hindu boy, but that was really silly and very childish.”
Shah Rukh Khan is hailed for his wit, and he pulled a prank on his wedding day, too. In an old talk show of actress, Farida Jalal, Shah Rukh revealed how he fooled Gauri’s relatives by asking her to wear a burqa. Recalling the moment, Shah Rukh said:
“They were all talking in Punjabi. So, I looked at the time and said, “OK Gauri, put on your ‘burqa’ and let’s read the namaaz now." The whole family stared at us wondering if I had already changed her religion already. So I told them, “From now on she will wear a burqaa all the time, she won’t ever leave the house and her name will be changed to Ayesha and she will be like this.”"
Gauri is an acclaimed businesswoman who has proven her acumen in interior design and film production. She is the co-owner of the production house Red Chillies Entertainment. In 2012, Gauri Khan also launched her own line of furniture, The Charcoal Project, and later, in 2017, she started her store, Gauri Khan Designs. Gauri is known for her contemporary style and gorgeous interiors.
