Geeta Kapur talked about the body shaming she faced in her initial days when she had just begun her television journey and how it used to affect her.
One of the most loved Indian choreographers, Geeta Kapur talked about the nasty comments she had faced due to her body. For anyone from the industry, maintaining the basic measurements of the body becomes a necessity. However, since Geeta is counted among the plus-size personalities on television, who, without giving an ear to all those body standards, kept on working, she had to face huge body shaming.
The popular television personality, Geeta Kapur got indulged in a candid conversation with Maniesh Paul in the latest episode of his podcast. Geeta who is currently judging a dance reality show on Sony TV, India’s Best Dancer, along with Malaika Arora and Terence Lewis, shared how she was highly affected by some nasty comments about her body. She mentioned that those comments used to reach her through fan mail and used to upset her.

Further, in the same conversation, she mentioned that it was when she started her TV journey as a judge in Zee Tv's popular dance reality show, Dance India Dance, in 2008 that people started overlooking her work. She shared that she was struggling to make her place while sitting between two men (her co-judges, Terence Lewis and Remo D’Souza). However, people overlooked her hard work and used to call her fat. Adding that one fan commented, 'You look like a buffalo', Geeta mentioned that though she accepted that Terence was a good-looking guy and Remo had a stunning personality, she was also doing something for which he could have also been praised.
Geeta also narrated an incident when she had replaced Farah Khan at a fashion show since the latter wasn't well. She explained how that show became one of the pivotal shows in her life as she could meet Farah for the first time. Since then, Geeta shared that Farah's maternal love for her had begun. For the unversed, Geeta had also joined Farah's troupe later on.

Apart from judging the dance reality shows, Geeta also assisted Farah Khan in various Bollywood films, including Dil Toh Pagal hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Om Shanti Om and many more. In addition, she also led her choreography in movies like Asoka, Heyy Babyy, Aladin, Tees Maar Khan and others.
