Genelia Deshmukh shares a warm bond with her mother-in-law, Vaishali Deshmukh. On October 10, 2020, Genelia shared the sweetest birthday wish for her ‘saasu maa’.
We have always seen how girls share a warm bond with their mothers but have hardly heard or seen them sharing the same emotions with their mother-in-law. Courtesy to the daily soaps and some melodramatic movies, where the two are always at loggerheads, majority of the times, saasu maas’ are portrayed in a bad light, planning and plotting against their bahus and the latter taking their vengeance. But there are some exceptions in the saas-bahu jodis, who dote on each other. And one such exceptional jodi is Genelia Deshmukh and her mother-in-law, Vaishali Deshmukh. Genelia D’Souza changed her surname to ‘Deshmukh’ when she had gotten married to the love of her life, Riteish Deshmukh. She is not only an ideal daughter but a doting daughter-in-law too. From standing with tears in her eyes during her father-in-law, Vilasrao Deshmukh’s remembrance ceremonies to thanking her mother-in-law, Vaishali Deshmukh for supporting her throughout, she has always been there for her family. Genelia has always praised her mother-in-law and had once stated that she is more than a mother to her.
On October 10, 2020, Vaishali Deshmukh turned a year older and her loving daughter-in-law, Genelia Deshmukh shared the sweetest message for her. Genelia took to her IG handle and shared two pictures with her aai. In both the pictures, the two were seen hugging each other. Along with the pictures, Genelia wrote a heartmelting birthday wish, which can be read as ““A daughter-in-law cannot be perfect by herself, a mother-in-law helps her to be one” Happy Birthday Aai. To all our endless conversations, to loving our most Favourite man in different ways but most importantly to these endless hugs which is sometimes all I need. I Love you Always and Forever.” Riteish Deshmukh also wished his aai by sharing adorable pictures with her. In the pictures, the mother and son were seen having a happy moment while having a little chat with each other. Along with the pictures, Riteish wrote, “Aai Love You... Happy Birthday!”
Last year on Vaishali ji’s birthday, Genelia had taken to her Instagram handle and had wished her aai with a warm message. She had shared a beautiful picture with her aai and hubby, Riteish. Along with the picture, she had written, "Dearest Aai... I wish you a happy birthday and I hope that all the best things only come your way… Making you proud of us, is our mission at home... Thank you for being such an amazing inspiration to us… How blessed and fortunate Am I, that you are not only his mother but my friend… Love you and aspire to always be like you… Happy Birthday Aai." On the occasion of Mother’s Day, i.e., May 10, 2020, Genelia had thanked her mother-in-law for being more than a mother to her. She had taken to her IG handle and had shared a picture with her along with her little munchkins, Riaan and Rahyl. Along with the picture, Genelia had written, “Once blessed with a beautiful mother, twice blessed with a gorgeous mother-in-law... Thank you Aai for being more than a mother to me.. I feel blessed to be your daughter in law… Happy Mother’s Day, I Love you to the moon and back.”
Time and again Genelia had shared pictures of her family, and we love how beautifully she has been managing the duties of a wife, mother, sister, daughter and daughter-in-law. In a 2013 interview with a leading portal, Riteish Deshmukh had talked about how his wife, Genelia had stood with him during the horrible time when he had lost his father and how she helped him with coping the loss. He had stated, “Genelia. Not because I am married to her. That is irrespective but eventually, she is my strength, my support. To have someone who understands when you like to talk, and when you don’t, is incredible. I don’t like to talk about. I don’t talk. So even for her to sit next to me and share that silence was helpful. I value the silences more than the chats."
