Recently, Ghazal Alagh shared a post on LinkedIn and dropped a picture from her pregnancy photoshoot. In the post, Alagh wrote that she used to shoot for 12 hours a day in the 8th month of her pregnancy as she wanted to break the prevailing myth that women become less active during their pregnancies. She penned:
"I have heard this from friends and relatives multiple times and when the Shark Tank India opportunity came my way. To address this tag, I decided to take up the opportunity while I was in my 8th month of pregnancy and shoot 12 hours a day along with others. My goal was to inspire others and break this prevailing myth, especially amongst men, that women become less active or capable during this phase of their lives."
She further added that four managers of her team are pregnant, but they have decided to take the highest revenue goal on innovation. Mentioning that they are confident about over-delivering their targets along with delivering their babies, Ghazal added:
"This year, four managers in my innovation team are pregnant, and we have taken the highest revenue goal on innovation. We are confident we will not only deliver the babies but also over-deliver on our goals. We are there for each other whenever one needs support."

The LinkedIn post by Mamaearth's co-founder, Ghazal Alagh was criticised by Prakriti Sharma, who is an AI engineer at Tata Consultancy Services. She slammed the entrepreneur for her portrayal of pregnancy and women's choices. Prakriti criticised Alagh's decision to prioritise a pregnancy photo shoot over her health and penned:
"I find it absolute nonsense that a pregnant lady would prioritize a shoot for the external world to see, over her own child's well-being. Posting about being stupid and harsh on herself during pregnancy and seeking validation for the same from the internet makes it even awful to watch."
As soon as Ghazal's post surfaced on social media, many people flooded the comment section with their strong reactions. They slammed the entrepreneur for asking women not to prioritise their health during pregnancy, especially in the last trimester. While some called out Ghazal for sharing a false narrative, others mentioned that her post lacked perspective. Check out the comments below:
