The doting wife started her speech by telling that her husband would've thanked God, his ancestors, and co-stars. She said, "He would thank God, he would thank his parents. He would thank his ancestors for their guidance and their sacrifices. He would thank his incredible team. He would thank his team on-set for this film. He would say something beautiful, something inspiring, something that would amplify that little voice inside of all of us that tells you, you can, that tells you to keep going, that calls you back to what you are meant to be doing at this moment in history."
Going further in her speech, Taylor Simone Ledward also mentioned that her late husband, Chadwick Boseman would have thanked the legendary actor, Denzel Washington, without a doubt. He would thank Mrs. Viola Davis, Mr. Glynn Turman, Mr. Michael Potts, Mr. Coman Domingo, Miss Taylour Paige, Mr. Dusan Brown. And, I don't have his words but we have to take all the moment to celebrate those we love. So, thank you, HFPA, for this opportunity to do exactly that. And honey, 'You keep 'em coming.' Thank you." It was his wife, Taylor Simone Ledward, once again, who had accepted his award virtually and had praised her husband for the kind of human he was. She had said, "He is the most honest person I'd ever met. He actively searched for it, in himself, those around him and the moment. The truth can be a very easy thing for the self to avoid. But if one does not live in truth, then it's impossible to live life. So it became how he lived his life, day in and day out." Concluding her statement, Taylor Simone had requested everyone not to let his conviction go in vain, and may our spirits be fertile enough to be cherished by God's wisdom upon it.
