Govinda's Wife, Sunita Ahuja, shares how she has a friendly relationship with the actor, talks with 'gali galoch' with him.
Govinda's wife, Sunita Ahuja, has a bindaas attitude and is known for her frank and spoken nature. She recently revealed her unconventional relationship with her husband and revealed interesting and unheard details. Sunita was frank enough to say that her equation with Govinda is not that of a typical husband and wife.
Sunita, in an interview with Hauterrfly, shared that in a casual manner, she calls Govinda 'abbey', and the veteran actor also responds in a similar fashion. Their playfulness and candid nature often makes Sunita question her relationship. In her words:
“I still don't feel like we are husband and wife. I still address him as 'Abbe' and he also addresses me the same way. That's how we talk to each other. Gali-galoch” is a part of their verbal exchange I sometimes ask him 'are you my husband?'
Sunita, going further in the interview, spoke about men keeping extramarital affairs and said that she would like to fold her hands and tell women not ever to say that their partner is innocent. If he does cheat, it will become so bad and no matter how hard you try to get rid of the woman, she won't leave him for years. Even if you leave him, that woman won't, is what Sunita felt.
"Tough times don't last, tough people do". Sunita revealed that in 40 years of her marriage with Govinda, the couple has been through many highs and lows of life together. Sunita and Govinda's daughter, Tina also appreciated her mom's method of doing unconditional love and said:
“My mom is an intense lover. She has intense love for my Dad. If you love, love with all your heart, otherwise, they can go to hell. If the other person doesn't reciprocate, you should walk the other way."
During an earlier appearance on the Time Out with Ankit podcast, Sunita revealed that she had shaped herself to adapt to the preferences of Govinda's family. She changed from wearing miniskirts to sarees as the actor felt his mom would be more comfortable seeing her in traditional outfits. Sunita collected:
"My mother will not like it...I told her it's okay, let's wear a saree, will it make any difference? By hook or by crook I had to get her. I was like, okay, I will wear a saree, and it won't make any difference. I wanted to woo her at any cost."
Sunita is the sister of Govinda's maternal uncle, Anand Singh's wife, who met the actor when she was in school and he was in college. Sunita's sister married Govinda's maternal uncle and Sunita first saw Govinda at their wedding. The actor was in his final year of BCom, and Sunita was in class 9. Once, when she was in the car with her brother, she rested her hand on the headrest. Govinda had subtly touched her hand, and ever since then, they dated for three years, and the rest was history.
