When asked why she hid her pregnancy, Gul stated, “Rishi and I have always valued our privacy. Becoming parents is a special experience and we decided that we’d like to go through it without the distraction of public attention. Family and close friends knew about Nihal but we refrained from posting anything on the social media. He is almost six months old and it has been a roller coaster ride! I’m charmed by his gurgles and giggles even if it is a bit of a struggle with erratic sleep and feeding schedules. Life and goals are taking shape parallelly, with a little more coordination between Rishi and me to include Nihal.”

About naming her little munchkin Nihal, Gul was quoted as saying, “We had a list of names from everyone and everywhere. Nihal means joy, success and victory that comes with the blessings of God. Rishi and I believe that leading principled, good lives leads to true and lasting success so the name resonated with us.” Gul further continued, “Nothing prepares you for a baby but I’m grateful to my cousin Simran who’s been like a fairy godmother and guided me. We’re learning as parents and I think we’ll continue to do so till we’re old and grey.” (Also Read: Little Cutie Inaaya Naumi Kemmu Didn't Recognise Her Father Kunal Kemmu, Here's Why!)

She spoke about returning to her fitness regime, post-pregnancy and shared, “Nihal was born prematurely so I didn’t put on too much weight. Even through the pregnancy, I took care to eat healthy and have always been very active, so it was easy to get back to my workouts and shed the extra kilos.” She also gave advice to all the soon-to-be-mommies, who are planning to embrace motherhood in their 30s. Gul said, “I think having a baby is a very significant step in life, and like marriage, you should think it through carefully before committing to it. Have children when you are ready to welcome them and can raise them happily and responsibly, not when society says you must.”

Gul believes that it is not that difficult to keep personal lives private if one wishes to be. Speaking about her husband, in an interview with Hindustan Times, Gul remarked, “Rishi, my husband, was constantly by my side during the election campaign. From the last 17 years, we have been together and married for five years. But he has mastered the art of blending into the shadows.” She further continued, “Even media respect the fact that we like to keep our personal life private. If you are in showbiz in India then your personal life is under scrutiny but if you want to keep it private, you can.”

She shared in a Times Of India interview that her husband, Rishi encouraged her to pursue her dream of flying. Gul mentioned, “I used to pass the flying academy in Patiala every day on my way to college. I wanted to be a part of it as a hobby, but the course was expensive, and I didn’t want to burden my parents. When I shared the idea with my husband, Rishi Attari, who is a commercial pilot he encouraged me to fulfil my dream.”

She went on to say, “My husband helped me convert my dream into a goal. The emotions I felt when I took my first solo flight are inexpressible. The fact that only a few exclusive adventurers have the ability to fly is exciting.” (Also Read: Sania Mirza's Sister Anam Mirza Is Super-Excited To Be 'Maasi', Shares Lovely Pic With Crazy Message)
