Here's everything you need to know about the legendary Punjabi singer, Gurdas Maan and his wife, Manjeet Maan's love story and why they got married thrice.
Gurdas Maan is among the most successful and talented singers in Punjab. The legendary singer is currently on an India tour to promote his recently released album, Sound Of Soil, whose first track, Main Hi Jhooti, has impressed music lovers and become an instant hit. Gurdas Maan has been in the music industry for more than four decades and has made a mark for himself, but not much is known about his love story with actress, Manjeet Maan, whom he married thrice.
Gurdas Maan and Manjeet Maan's love story started when they first met in college. Gurdas and his then-friend, Manjeet Kaur, was also associated with the field of art. She has been the best actress of her time. She has also worked in many films. The duo's common interest brought them together, and they soon fell in love and decided to get married.
But their journey towards their happily ever after wasn't easy. Their families did not accept their affair, and the two eloped to get married. Gurdas Maan, in Kapil Sharma's show, revealed that at that time, love marriages were not looked at in a positive light by society, but the duo was adamant that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.
While narrating the story of marrying his wife Manjeet Maan thrice in the Kapil Sharma Show, Gurdas Maan shared that he and Manjeet first had a love marriage without their families. But in those times, love marriages were not looked upon favourably in Punjab. When Maan married Manjeet Kaur, his family said that the couple married at their own free will, so now they have to get married traditionally. Thus, Gurdas Maan's family got him married for the second time.
After this, Manjeet Kaur's family members also started insisting that the marriage should take place as per their traditions. So Gurdas and Manjeet tied the knot yet again as per the latter's family norms, making it their third wedding.
Although, Gurdas and Manjeet prefer to keep their personal lives out of the limelight, we sometimes get a few updates on them. The duo is proud parents to a son, Gurickk Maan, who, in January 2020, tied the knot with actress, Simran Kaur Mundi. A few years later, in 2023, they welcomed their first baby.
On January 31, 2020, Guricck and Simran celebrated their love in a grand ceremony in Patiala, Punjab. The bride was a vision in a red lehenga with intricate golden embroidery dupatta, while the groom was a picture of elegance in a mustard-coloured kurta with a vibrant blue turban.
Gurdas Maan and Manjeet Maan are true examples of love and perseverance, and we hope they share more about their love story in the near future.
