The lockdown life has brought people closer. Our favourite celebrities, who used to have busy schedules earlier, are now on rest and spending time with their families and partners. This has come like a much-needed break for them as they hardly get time to laze around the couch and watch a show or movie and just don’t stress about their work commitments. Every celebrity couple might be secretly thanking the lockdown for this blissful time they have got, which probably they would have never got the chance to tick off their list. Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina Bonnerjee’s love life can turn into an epic TV show as there have been so many twists and turns that fans will be glued to it. Gurmeet and Debina had first met each other in 2006 when the two had participated in a reality show. Later, the duo had met each other again, when Debina had shifted to Mumbai to pursue acting and that is when the two had actually fallen in love. The couple had an a-ran-away wedding in 2006, about which their respective parents were not informed. The lovebirds had officially tied the knot on February 15, 2011. The couple often shares their PDA moments on their respective social media handles, and their tom-and-jerry relationship is what every modern-day relationship looks like.
Recently, in a conversation with the Hindustan Times, Gurmeet talked about how he is spending time with his wife, Debina during the lockdown. He laughingly said, “She gets upset every time I end up sleeping while watching a series/ film that I only recommended.” Revealing that Debina’s parents are living with them, he added, “Her parents are with us. My parents are with my brother. The good news is that my brother has been blessed with a baby boy. We’re waiting to meet our little bundle of joy. I want to go home (in Bihar) the moment travel is open.”
Gurmeet also talked about how as an actor they have a huge impact on people and thus, he and Debina are trying to circulate authentic information and make people smile. He said, “Hum actors ko bahut log follow karte hain. It’s very important for us to understand what we’re putting out there. Par hum log bhi insaan hain, galti ho jaati hai. I try to share information that’s authentic.” He added, “Also, a lot of people have a lot of spare time at hand now, and they don’t know what to do. So, the fun videos and photos that Debina (Bonnerjee; actor and wife) and I post, are mostly to entertain our fans.”
Gurmeet also shared his work-related worries and how the couple is not going to let this hamper them. “Everyone is worried in our industry those who earn Rs 500 a day or the ones who make a crore,” he further said, “I was shooting for a film and Debina was working on a TV show. Both were stopped midway due to lockdown. So, it won’t be an easy ride when things open up. But, we’re prepared, crossing one hurdle at a time.” (Recommended Read: Chahatt Khanna Opens Up About Her Depression And How She Is Coming Out Of It In A Healthy Way)
Talking about how life has changed due to the pandemic, the actor shared, “Not everything is in our hands, but our thoughts are. So, why not make them positive and constructive? When you want to divert your mind, do things you enjoy — reading, writing, sketching.”
There is a re-run of Gurmeet’s popular shows, Ramayan, Geet Hui Sabse Parayi and Punar Vivah due to the lockdown. Talking about the same, he said, “Those initial days were so different. Ramayan gave me popularity. Geet helped me to break stereotypes that people thought I’d fall into, given that I’ve played Lord Ram. Many also said that my career is finished. Then Punar Vivah happened. From the days when I’d think how I’d survive in Mumbai, to now, God has been kind.” He also opened up about returning to the small screen and said, “I’ve never said no to TV. Films and web also intrigue me. Medium can never be a barrier. It’s just that I can’t do an infinite show on TV, given my other commitments.” (Don't Miss: Pooja Bedi Celebrates Her 50th Birthday With Children, Alaya And Omar, BF Maneck And Dad, Kabir Bedi)
