Hansika Motwani's sister-in-law, Muskan Nancy James is known for her acting chops in Mata Ki Chowki. She has hogged the headlines, as she has filed a police complaint against her husband, sister-in-law, Hansika Motwani and her mom-in-law, Jyoti Motwani. The actress has registered the complaint under varied sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. It included 498-A (cruelty), 323 (causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (common intention).
Muskan had registered the complaint at Ambolice police station in Mumbai and alleged that Hansika and her mother had interfered in her marriage, which caused a strain on Muskan's relationship with her husband. She also claimed that her in-laws always demanded luxurious gifts and cash and also used to engage in fraudulent activities related to property matters.
She also accused her husband of domestic violence, due to which she had to undergo a lot of mental stress, which gave rise to Bell's Palsy, a medical condition where facial paralysis takes place. Reportedly Muskan and her husband have been living separately for two years. During an interview with Pinkvilla, Muskan opened up about filing the complaint and said:
"Yes, an FIR has been registered against Prashant, Hansika, and Jyoti Motwani. I have sought legal assistance now. At this point, I am not at liberty to comment further.”
It was in December 2022, when Muskan told the world that she was suffering from the facial paralysis condition. She had uploaded a clip where she was seen undergoing the medical treatment and in her post, she thanked her parents for their unwavering support. Muskan's post started off by saying that life is unpredictable and full of surprises. Some people wonder where she had been while some of her fraternity people assumed that she left the industry and some might actually know what she underwent. Muskan in her long post then revealed:
"I was diagnosed with disorder called bell's palsy. (facial paralysis) it can happen due to a lot of stress, trauma. It came back recently after I recovered 70 % and the last few months have been very stressful for me and my parents. It was miserable as an artist to wake up with a swollen face and unbearable pain."
The actress also revealed of being disturbed and dealing with emotional stress, since 2021. However, she has been counting her blessings and thanking God for giving her the strength to stand tall through this storm. She also expressed gratefulness to her parents for giving her a shoulder to lean on. She concluded her post by saying that life has never been easy but it does stop snowing one day.
It was in 2021 when Muskan and Prashant tied the knot in a highly prolific wedding. Troubles cropped up in their marriage in 2022 when there were reports that they were heading for separation.
