Taha Shah Badussha has been helming the headlines ever since Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar was released on Netflix. Taha who played the role of ‘Tajdar Baloch’, a young nawab, has become the new national crush. The actor’s boyish charm, coupled with his stout physique and top-notch performance, has captivated the audience’s hearts so much so that they have compared him with acclaimed actors like Fawad Khan and Vicky Kaushal.

The Heeramandi star recently sat for an interview with Instant Bollywood and spoke at length about his struggles in the industry and the result of his hard work. During the conversation, the host mentioned that there had been a reel going viral on social media talking about how Taha looked like a mixture of actors Vicky Kaushal and Fawad Khan. The host asked how Taha feels about such videos. To this, Taha said:

“I don’t know about the looks, but the performances of both, they are both good actors. For me, looks don’t matter, for me the performance matters. So, if they are comparing me to Fawad, they are comparing me to Vicky, girls are comparing me to as romance in the eyes to Shah Rukh, what else do you want man? They are not comparing me with somebody else, they are comparing me to the elite actors.”

Taha Shah Badussha reveals Vicky Kaushal was his senior and Ritvik Dhanjani was his classmate in acting school

Taha further shared that he has been good friends with Vicky as he was his senior in their acting school, Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute. The Heeramandi actor also shared that both of them have seen each other grow and mentioned that even in the institute, Vicky was a great actor. He also shared that popular Indian television actor, Rithvik Dhanjani was his classmate in the institute.

Taha Shah Badussha recalls his struggle period

Taha Shah is not a newcomer in the Hindi film industry. The actor started his journey some 14 years back and debuted in Bollywood with the 2011 film, Luv Ka The End, co-starring Shraddha Kapoor. Over the years, he worked on several other projects before finally bagging a role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi, which shot him to immense popularity. During the same conversation, Taha also gave insights into his struggle days.

The actor shared that over the years, he has been to parties and met people with the sole purpose of making contacts. Taha revealed that he would call casting directors, and they did not even answer his call for six years. He also mentioned that he would cold call people and has also gone to eight auditions a day. Taha recalled that he even paid money for auditions and was even scammed. However, he also added that people must be desperate in order to fulfil their dreams.
