In a piece of heartbreaking news, veteran Bollywood actor, Mithun Chakraborty's first wife, Helena Luke, passed away in the USA. Her demise took place on November 3 2024. Dancer and actress, Kalpana Iyer shared the sad news. A report by MidDay claimed that Helena was not in good health and had not received timely medical attention.
However, Helena's last post on Facebook was made on 2nd November, 2024 and it was sad. It read, "Feeling weird. Mixed emotions and no clue why. Was her last Facebook post about her current health?

She was married to Mithun Chakraborty for only four months and, after that, had opted for separation. She never wanted to get married to the actor. In an earlier interview with Stardust, Helena revealed that she regretted marrying Mithun. In her words:
"I only wish it hadn’t happened, he was the one who brainwashed me into believing that he was the man for me, unfortunately, he succeeded. I’ll never go back to him even if he is the richest guy around. I haven’t even asked for alimony, it was a nightmare, and it’s over.”
In the same interview, Helena also said that she believed Mithun when he said he loved her. However, when she got to know him a bit better, she found out that he was immature and, though she was younger than him, felt older. Helena had claimed that Mithun was a possessive husband and had alleged that she was seeing her ex-boyfriend, Javed. Helena had mentioned:
"I used to go blue in the face trying to convince him that I didn’t, but couldn’t succeed in eradicating his deep-rooted suspicious nature. It was only later that I realized he had a guilt complex. He himself was fooling around my back and thought I was doing the same.”
Helena was an actress of Indo-American origin who was known for her performances in the 1980s. She was seen in the movie, Mard and Do Gulab. It was in 1979 when Helena's marriage with Mithun ended, and then she moved to the USA, where she reportedly worked in the aviation industry. Her career in the film industry was a brief one, like her marriage. She had essayed the role of a British queen in the blockbuster movie, Mard, which Manmohan Desai helmed. Her role as, Lady Helen saw her saving 'Azad Singh', aka Dara Singh, and then she went on to save her son, 'Raju', as essayed by Amitabh Bachchan. Helena was also seen in Aao Pyaar Karen and and Bhai Aakhir Bhai Hota Hai.
On the other hand, her former husband Mithun married actress, Yogeeta Bali. They were blessed with four children: Mimoh, Ushmey Chakraborty, Namashi Chakraborty, and an adopted daughter named Dishani Chakraborty.
