Hema Malini heaps praises on her husband, Dharmendra as she recalled him to be a caring and available father to her daughters, Esha and Ahana.
The Dream Girl of Bollywood, a.k.a Hema Malini continues to mesmerise her fans with her unending grace, beauty and charismatic personality. Her immense contributions to the film industry have resulted in her legacy of iconic films, which are loved even today. Apart from her acting career, she has also stepped into the field of politics and is currently the Member of Parliament from Mathura constituency. Apart from her achievements in her career, Hema has also hailed the headlines for her personal life. For the unversed, she got married to legendary actor, Dharmendra, while he was still married to his first wife, Prakash Kaur. The duo is blessed with two daughters, Esha Deol Takhtani and Ahana Deol Vohra.
In a recent interview with Lehren, Hema Malini opened up about her husband, Dharmendra. She revealed that he had always been there for their daughters. She revealed that both her daughters have been well-raised and that Dharmendra had always been worried that both of them should be married well-off. In her words:
“I have my two children, they are brought up very well and he is always there. That is the best part, he is always there. Actually he was worried, shaadi hona chaiye bachchon ka. I said hoga. When the time is right, the right person will come around. With the blessings of god and guru ma, everything happened.”

In another of her recent interviews with the Bombay Times, Hema Malini had reacted to the slightly altered kind of marriage that she has had with Dharmendra. For the unversed, at the time of her wedding, it was reported that the duo had apparently converted their faith in order to get married. Speaking on the same lines, Hema mentioned that had not her wedding been a conventional one, she could not have achieved so much of stardom. In her words:
"If my marriage had been a conventional one, I think I would have been a nobody. Today, I am doing all this-films, dance, going to places for talks, being in politics-itna sab kuch kaise hota if it was a conventional life.”
A few days back, Dharmendra had issued a public apology to his second wife, Hema Malini and his daughters, Esha and Ahana. This was done in the wake of the actress not being invited to her step-grandson, Karan Deol’s wedding. In his note, Dharmendra extended his love and well-wishes to his other family and shared how much he loved them. Along with it, he also added a picture of himself with his grandchildren from his second marriage and his sons-in-law.

In one of her earlier interviews with the National Herald, Hema Malini opened up on her life and also gave a hint of her husband, Dharmendra’s absence in many facets of the same. She revealed that she now felt a sense of missing out on many things, as her daughters were all grown up. Moreover, she also spoke about expecting too much of her husband’s company and presence with her. She mentioned:
“Maybe I expected more of my husband’s company. I thought we’ll be together more often. I never felt that absence until now. When I married I thought we’d come to an arrangement that would suit all of us. Lekin nahin hua. But it’s okay. I accept the situation.”
