The foreknowledge of losing a parent to death one day doesn't lessen the grief or make it less emotionally difficult. Nothing remains the same after losing a parent and we are left with just memories to be reminisced upon. Hema Malini, who has lost her parents to death, leaves no chance to express how much she misses their presence in her life.
To mark Father's Day 2021, Hema Malini had posted a throwback black-and-white picture with her dad, who used to hover protectively over her. Along with the picture, she had tweeted, "Today we celebrate Father's Day. I recall my Dad who was selfless in his love for his children, me in particular as I was the only daughter. He would take such care of me, fulfil my every little need and was always there for me, hovering protectively over me. I truly miss him."

Last year, in May 2020, Esha Deol had posted a throwback picture with her grandmother, late Jaya Chakravarti and her mother, Hema Malini in one frame. Esha had captioned her childhood picture with three generations in a frame as "#throwbackthursday #threegenerations my Grandma Amba (#jayachakravarty), my mamma @dreamgirlhemamalini & me! #stayhome #staysafe."

On Mother's Day 2020, Hema Malini had posted an unseen monochromatic picture with her mother, Jaya Chakravarti. Sporting a traditional Bharatanatyam attire, Hema Malini had captioned the picture as "It is Mother's Day! A day for us to recall with love & gratitude all that our mothers have done for us. Also a day for us to celebrate our status as mothers & grandmothers & look back proudly at the years passed in bringing our kids. This is a treasured file photo of me & my mom." Posting a picture with her mother and daughter, Ahana Deol, Hema Malini had written, "Happy mother's Day."
In an interview with Mail Today, Esha Deol had recalled her memories with her grandmother, Jaya Chakravarti. The actress had remarked, "Grandparents give a certain level of grounding for kids. My grandmother would teach me Hindi and painting. We spent a lot of time together, and I really miss her. Besides our partner, the other people we can completely trust our parents or in-laws. They can take care of our kids as much and even more than we can, if we are not available. Their relationship is so beautiful. I love the relationship between my mother and my daughters."
On the work front, Hema Malini was last seen in the film, Shimla Mirchi.
