Hema Malini opened up about the reaction of her husband, Dharmendra on the success of her step son, Sunny Deol's film, 'Jaat'.
Sunny Deol is on cloud nine as his latest offering, Jaat has been breaking box office records. Sunny's stepmother, veteran star, 'Dream Girl', Hema Malini, shared about the immense pride and joy she felt over her stepson, Sunny's latest movie, Jaat. The film was released in the theatres on April 10, 2025, and has received a great response from both the critics and Sunny's sea of fans. Hema and her daughter, Esha Deol, were seen at a recent event in Mumbai, where they spoke about the overwhelming response that Jaat has received.
Sunny Deol's latest film, Jaat saw a decent start at the box office window. Reportedly, the movie's Day 1 collection started with Rs. 9.50 crore. During the event in Mumbai, in an interview with Instant Bollywood, Hema felt proud while talking about Sunny's work in Jaat. She spoke about how Dharmendra, her husband has been happy with Jaat's response. In her words:
"I heard that it has opened with a very big bumper. Bohot achcha lag raha he ki logo ko bohot achcha lag raha hai. The film is so good, I believe.”
Esha, Hema Malini's daughter who was with her mother understood her sentiments and spoke about her half-brother, Sunny's dedication towards his work of craft. Jaat is expected to earn more than Rs. 5-7 crore at the box office. It is said that evening and night shows would influence the movie's box office collection. Speaking of the film, Eesha said:
"I am so happy. It is all his hard work. Logo ka pyaar hai unke liye itna, so I am happy that the film has opened big. That's how it has to be with him, always.”
Speaking of Jaat, Sunny Deol is known to do larger-than-life, action movies. He made his comeback to the theatres with his next offering, Jaat which has resonated with his fans. The film is known for its high-octane dramatic scenes, massy appearance and power-packed dialogues. According to a report by Sacnilk.com, the overall Hindi occupancy of the movie as of April 10, 2025, has been 12.89% which is a huge figure for an action drama solo release.
Gopichand Malineni directed the movie while TG Vishwa Prasad, Naveen Yerneni, and Y. Ravi Shankar produced the movie. The stellar cast apart from Sunny includes Randeep Hooda who plays the role of a scary antagonist. Others include Ayesha Khan, Saiyami Kher, Zarina Wahab, Bandhavi Sridhar, Vishika Kota, Vineet Kumar Singh, Dayanand Shetty, Jagapati Babu, and Babloo Prithiveeraj.
In the action-packed film, Jaat, Sunny Deol roars into action where he is seen hitting goons and dominating the big screen like an army man. The plot is solid and the director, Gopichand ensures that the action scenes are relentless while the storyline is all things emotional.
