They are one of the famous Bollywood couples who have always been very private about their family life, be it their personal life or their child getting clicked by the shutterbugs. Yes, we are talking about Hichki fame Rani Mukerji and her director-husband, Aditya Chopra. The actress is making a comeback after a break of four long years and will be seen in Aditya Chopra film Hichki, scheduled to release in March 2018.
Rani has been promoting the film rigorously time and again and recently, she even appeared on a famous chat show of Neha Dhupia along with famous celebrity designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. On BFFs with Vogue, skipping her shyness, the doting wife finally spoke about her first meeting with Aditya many years back. She revealed, "After having faced failure for a couple of my films, luckily Mujhse Dosti Karoge happened and that’s when I met Adi first time professionally. He told me that I’m doing a couple of crap films and that people have pressured him not to take me because they think you don’t have the equity for a Yash Raj film but Adi had belief in my talent and me and thought that I was good for the part. My mother and I have been very upfront people always and I like frankness and openness so I like the fact that he was on my face."
Going further, she also spoke about her relationship with Aditya and revealed that she curses her husband every day but in a ‘loving’ manner. She retorted, “Yes, I do. I curse my husband every day; I abuse my husband every day but he does such loving things that the cursing comes out with love! So, in my family when we curse, we curse with love. We don’t curse with hate. If I curse somebody, that means I really love that person.” Protective and guarded about Adira being clicked by the paparazzi, Rani expressed her feelings about the same and said, “I want Adira to grow up normally. You get unwanted and undeserved attention without having achieved anything in life. I want Adira to be treated like any other child in school. Aditya and I don’t want her to be photographed constantly.”
Husband Aditya always shies away from the media glare and on the same, Rani stated, "It’s not as if he is paranoid about the cameras. He just doesn’t want to be photographed. He had told me after our marriage, ‘God when I fell in love with you, I didn’t stop to think that I was in love with an actress. Now, because of you, people are attaching my pictures to yours as well.'"
For the unfamiliar ones, Rani and Aditya tied the nuptial knot in a hush-hush ceremony in 2014 and both of them were adamant to not have a grand lavish wedding. Rani revealed that only 12 people were present at their wedding ceremony. Later after two years in December 2015, the couple became proud parents to Adira.
Well, it’s really nice to see how Aditya believed in Rani from the start and how Rani in return understands his guarded nature!
