Let us go back in time to witness one of the most unique crossovers that took place between Hollywood actors and Indian dress designers.
Indian weaves, fabrics and designs have always been appreciated globally. Right from the colonial era when Indian cotton was exported to countries abroad, Indian textiles have always created a special corner in the hearts of people across countries. Decades have passed, and even today, we still get to see some of the most unique crossovers taking place when foreign nationals style themselves in Indian fabrics. However, the greatest example of the same was found back in 2021, when Tim Story’s directorial, Tom And Jerry showcased an extravagant display of Indian designer attires for the film.
The iconic cartoon franchise of all times, Tom And Jerry was adapted into a movie of the same name, by the director, Tim Story. The film was helmed by the magnanimous production, Warner Bros, the film was a live-action enactment of the much-loved cartoon show. The film starred Chloe Grace Moretz, Collin Jost, Pallavi Sharda amongst others. While the movie received massive applause, it was especially the film’s choice of including Indian designer attires for a particular wedding sequence of the film that grabbed attention. Well, let us tell you that Warner Bros collaborated with the popular Indian designer platform, Aashni+ Co, to source some exquisite outfits for the scene.

Well, the wedding sequence of the film was much loved, and the lead pair, Pallavi Sharda and Collin Jost’s chemistry, was totally unmissable. For the shooting, the on-screen couple were made to wear wedding ensembles from the shelves of ace Indian designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Speaking about the on-screen bride Pallavi, she looked effortlessly beautiful in a white-hued lehenga designed by Sabyasachi. Her lehenga featured intricate embroidery in golden thread. She teamed it with a matching choli and dupatta. The highlight of the entire ensemble was the use of intricate zari work in geometrical shapes.
Collin Jost, the on-screen groom in the film, was also dressed up in wedding outfits from Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The actor wore a muted silver-hued sherwani featuring contrasting hued floral motifs all over it. He teamed it with a cream-hued tissue-silk-made pyjama and looked handsome.

Not just the on-screen couple, Pallavi and Collin, but the other pivotal actress in the film, Chloe Grace Moretz also chose to shed elegance in an Indian designer wear. The actress wore a baby pink-hued lehenga from the shelves of Indian designer, Anushree Reddy. Her outfit featured beautiful floral and bird motifs in white, along with a slight touch of green, pink and red hues. She teamed it with a matching choli. Her dupatta consisted of small butti works that looked pretty. The diva completed her look with subtle makeup and a layered chain.
