In an interview with Mid-Day, the Home Minister of Maharashtra, Anil Deshmukh has stated that a CBI enquiry into the matter of late Bollywood actor, Sushant Singh Rajput's demise is not the need of the hour. The confident Anil Deshmukh has shown his tremendous confidence in the investigative intelligence of Mumbai Police. Anil Deshmukh explained his take, "I have the tweets and the campaign. But I don't think that a CBI probe is required. The Mumbai Police is competent enough to handle such cases, and they are investigating every aspect of the case including professional rivalry. As of now, we do not see any foul play. Details of the investigation will be shared once it is completed." Talking about the ongoing investigation by the Mumbai police, recently in a statement from their side, they had stated that so far there's no sign of any foul play in the case and it could be read as "We are now waiting for the forensic report to get more clarity. Our investigation continues to look into the professional rivalry angle". However, they're still investigating the matter quite closely, and it has been stated by the police that the doctor, whom Sushant had consulted earlier will be interrogated once again in coming days.

Well, Maharastra's Home Minister, Anil Deshmukh has come forward after Bollywood actress, Rhea Chakraborty had posted a plea for a CBI enquiry on July 16, 2020. The actress had taken to her Instagram handle and had posted a smiling picture of her boyfriend and late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput. Along with the picture, Rhea had written a note for the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah pleading for initiating a CBI enquiry. Her long emotional note could be read as "Respected @amitshahofficial sir, I'm Sushant Singh Rajput's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, it is now over a month since his sudden demise. I have complete faith in the government. However, in the interest of justice, I request you with folded hands to initiate a CBI enquiry into this matter. I only want to understand what pressures prompted Sushant to take this step. Yours sincerely. Rhea Chakraborty. #satyamevajayate."
