Honey Singh's wife, Shalini Singh puts startling allegations against him and his family. She also accused her father-in-law of touching her inappropriately.
Hirdesh Singh, popularly known as Yo Yo Honey Singh had gained massive popularity through his foot tapping rap songs. He had always kept his personal life out of media glares until 2014 when the rapper had posted a picture of his wife, Shalini Singh, whom he had married in 2011. However, the singer has recently hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons as his wife had filed a complaint of domestic violence against him.
On August 3, 2021, Honey Singh's wife, Shalini Singh had filed a plea in Delhi's Tis Hazari court against the singer. According to a report in India Today, Shalini had accused her husband, Honey of domestic violence, sexual violence, mental harassment and financial fraud. Now, in a shocking turn of events, Shalini levelled serious allegations against him and his family.

As per the reports of PTI, Shalini Singh accused Honey Singh of physically torturing her for the last 10 years. She further claimed of proving the same, requesting the court to issue orders against him under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. In her plea, Shalini also made a shocking indictment against her father-in-law, who touched her inappropriately.
Talking about the same, Shalini revealed how her father-in-law, once entered her room, while she was changing her clothes and in a drunken state, he casually touched her chest. She also accused her husband, Honey Singh of having multiple affairs and indulging in casual sex with them. As per the report, Shalini further claimed that she was beaten mercilessly by the rapper for posting their marriage pictures on social media.
The constant physical and mental abuse had a serious impact on her mental health as she suffered from the symptoms of depression and sought medical help. Shalini, who stated that she felt like a farm animal after being subjected to so much cruelty had sought a compensation of Rs. 10 crores under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act. She also urged the court to order the singer to pay a rent of Rs 5 lakh every month for fully furnished accommodation.

For the uninitiated, the couple has known each other for seventeen years. The duo were childhood sweethearts, and Honey Singh had tied the knot with Shalini Singh on January 23, 2011. This year, in 2021, the duo had completed ten years of marital bliss.

The court has issued a notice to Honey Singh and has asked him to file his reply by August 28, 2021.
