Hrithik Roshan talked about the '6-months deadline' that his father, Rakesh Roshan had given to him for bagging the lead role in 'Kaho Naa... Pyaar hai'.
Over the years, the Bollywood industry has given us some extraordinary actors, some of them had exceptional acting skills, while some were famous for their expressions. From Dilip Kumar to Shah Rukh Khan, there’s a whole list of exquisite actors that we have seen on the big screen over the years. However, there’s one actor, who is famous for his scintillating intense acting, adorable romantic side, and inarguably the best dancer in the history of Bollywood industry. Yes! We are talking about the ‘Greek God’ of Bollywood, Hrithik Roshan. The actor who has given ‘versatility’ a whole new meaning with movies such as Guzaarish, Jodha Akbar, Agneepath, Krrish, Super 30, Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, and the list keeps on going on and on. One of the biggest reasons why the whole nation is madly-in-love with this actor goes to the undeniable truth that he’s getting better with age, just like a bottle of wine. Recently, the actor overshadowed Bollywood’s current heartthrob, Tiger Shroff in duo’s first film together, WAR. In the whole film, Hrithik was looking no less than a Hollywood actor and there were trolls, memes, and posts about his looks all over the internet.
However, many think his dad is the biggest reason behind his success and is just another example of nepotism. But not a lot of people know the fact that Hrithik’s father, Rakesh Roshan gave him a deadline of 6 months and told him that if he’s going to be ready in terms of acting, physique, and all other essential requirements then only he’s going to take him in Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai. Recently, Hrithik Roshan had a conversation with the Mumbai Mirror in which he talked about the first day of shooting with his father and how it all went for him. During that long conversation, he talked about the 6 months deadline that his father gave to him and said, “He had told me time and again that he would never compromise when it came to working and that I should not expect him to make a film for me. With this in mind, I had already started meeting other filmmakers and travelling to places to find work. Then, my father had a brainwave for a young love story which needed a new face and told me to be ready in six months. There was no excitement, no celebration, no family announcements, just a call for action with a deadline. It was serious business and I had to be at my best. That itself was my high.” (Don't Miss: Nick Jonas Shares An Adorable Picture Of His 'Favorite Laugh' With Wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas)
The actor then talked about the approach with which he trained his mind and tried to enter into the Bollywood. In the same interview, Hrithik revealed the three magic words on which he wanted his solid command and knew if he wants to fit into that model of a Hindi film hero then, he should have a concrete grip on these three important things. He stated, “I aimed to fit into the model of Hindi film hero. Muscles, dance, and action, those were the three magic words those days. Acting hardly counted as a prerequisite and more like a proverbial cherry on the cake. In a way, it was easy because all it took was the physical practice to achieve these ‘stars’ traits which today are a bonus as it’s what counts.”
We can see that Hrithik knew right from the start that it is acting that matters the most and that is the reason why he’s still right up there with the best actors in Bollywood despite the incoming of concept-based films. But how many of you know the fact that Hrithik took 14 takes in his second shot but knew right from the start that the number of takes isn’t a parameter to judge an actor’s credentials. Hrithik said, “My first shot was the scene where I wake up from the dream of being a singing star. My first day was extremely engaging and my focus was unshakable. The first shot was Okayed in one take itself, which was a huge boost. The second shot required 14 takes and made me hugely nervous. It also taught me an important lesson, the number of takes has no bearing on how good or bad an actor you are.” Coming back into the present, Hrithik is going to be seen next in 'Krrish 4' next year.
