Soha Ali Khan gave advice to Ibrahim Ali Khan

Ibrahim Ali Khan's debut film, Naadaniyaan, was met with harsh criticism from not just the audience but also the critics. The actor worked alongside Khushi Kapoor, but the viewers were not pleased with the film, and it received massive backlash for its 'cringe-worthy' dialogues and performances. Now, in a recent interview with Nayandeep Rakshit, the actor's aunt, Soha Ali Khan, revealed the advice she had given the young actor.

During the conversation, Soha Ali Khan was asked if she had ever offered any advice to Ibrahim Ali Khan after he was trolled for his performance in Nandaaniyan. The actress revealed that she had offered her nephew two tips to shield himself from the trolls, one of which was to develop a thicker skin. Soha revealed how she reacted to Ibrahim being criticised for his performance and his looks. She responded by stating:

"Number one, I think you need to have thick skin when you join this world. One needs to digest people’s opinions or then don’t read the comments. But, I feel, sometimes, it’s important to read the comments because you can’t just work in a vacuum. You have to be receptive to certain criticism, and you have to work on your craft and go forward."

Soha Ali Khan advised Ibrahim Ali Khan not to surround himself with 'yes' men

In the same conversation, Soha Ali Khan mentioned that there is a lot of hate in the world already. She added that there are people who cherish and celebrate the failure of others, and actors are often a soft target for them. She shared that while it was important to shield themselves from these trolls, it was equally as important to be open to creative criticism and improve. She concluded by stating that it was also necessary not to let a film's failure destroy it but to recognise where there is scope for it to be better. She was quoted as saying:

"The only thing you can do is have some kind of armour. Do not shut yourself to the world and surround yourself only with love and people who are going to say positive things and be like yes-men. Be open to criticism, introspect and work towards your craft. Don’t let your film’s success or failure, perhaps, destroy you in ways but also recognise where you need to work on something and become better."
