Ileana D'Cruz has been a victim of fake news for a long time now and in an interview, she shared a few false reports which took her by surprise.
When the South star, who wanted to pursue singing as her career but became an actor by accident, made her debut in the Hindi film industry with a hatke film, Barfi!, many had thought it to be an unwise decision. But in the end, when the film became a blockbuster hit on the box-office and was critically acclaimed, it was Ileana D'Cruz, who had the last laugh and since then, began her roller-coaster journey in Bollywood. Ileana has predominantly worked in Telugu and Hindi films. While Ileana has a fairy nice career in Bollywood, her personal life faced a low when she broke up with her 'hubby', Andrew Kneebone and dealt with depression post it.

Three years ago, on Christmas 2017, when Ileana D'Cruz had shared a blurred picture of herself in a red gown, decorating the Christmas tree, it was her caption that caught everyone's attention. Tagging Andrew Kneebone, Ileana had written 'Hubby' in her caption and though the couple had officially not clarified if they were married or not, their gestures were enough to prove it. But in 2019, the reports of Ileana and Andrew's break-up emerged in the media, and the actress had spoken about the same and consulting a therapist after separation, without directly acknowledging what happened between the two.
Ileana D'Cruz has been a victim of fake news for a long time now and during an interview with Bollywood Hungama, she shared a few false reports which took her by surprise. Ileana was quoted as saying, "There have been a few. There was one where apparently, I was pregnant and had an abortion. It is kind of sad, honestly, that people actually wrote stuff like that. It was bizarre. There was another where I had committed suicide, not attempted. Very sad. (That) I had committed suicide but I had survived and my maid had confirmed the news. I didn’t have a maid, I didn't attempt suicide, I was alive… It didn't make any sense. I don't even know where they get stuff like that."
Back in 2018, when Ileana D'Cruz had interacted with her fans via an 'Ask Me Anything' session on Instagram, she had answered a few questions about her 'hubby', Andrew Kneebone. When one of her fans asked her, "Life Partner?", Ileana tagged Andrew and drew a heart on her IG story. One of her fans asked her why she selected a 'foreigner man' as her life partner. To which, Ileana had replied, "I fell in love with a person's heart. His skin, colour or nationality doesn’t matter to me." Ileana had also revealed that she's 'madly in love' with Andrew.

Ileana D'Cruz and Andrew Kneebone unfollowed each other on social media and she had subsequently deleted their pictures from her profile. Speaking about consulting a therapist after parting ways with Andrew, Ileana had stated in an interview with The Times Of India, "I think you owe it to yourself to take care of yourself, and the minute I realised that I saw a huge difference; not just mentally, but physically and internally as well. If you are going through bad times, then you have to work on yourself. I can’t rely on people, because you have to rely on yourself. I went to a therapist and she told me to accept the compliments. I have accepted myself now and I am doing well, but staying in love is a different thing. Having a partner makes you feel calm and secure, but your mental well-being is far more important." When asked if she is ready for love again, Ileana had retorted, "I am not ready for love, I am very happy where I am. I am falling in love with myself."
Revealing how this experience had made her stronger and that she holds no animosity for Andrew Kneebone, Ileana D'Cruz had shared, "It is always a learning experience. I never wanted to come out bitter or someone with any animosity. It has left me stronger. Sh*t happens, but life goes on. The way I dealt with the entire thing comes with respect and love for the other person. I don't curse or think anything bad about him. I am in a good place and I wish all good things for him."
