Cows are an important part of Indian culture and are revered as pure and divine creatures. While it is true that lately, they are being brutally treated, there is a huge segment of the Indian population who still respects the cows and gives them the place they deserve. Something similar happened when an Indian-origin family decided to pay their respects to the holy animal oceans away in California.

The cow was adored with a multicoloured cloth, with several kumkum handprints and a flower garland. In the video, the cow was seen entering the house and being welcomed by the family with food. For the unversed, cows are an important part of Sanatan Dharma. Serving the cow is considered equal to serving the almighty. During a housewarming ceremony, the cow is first taken into the new house to bring prosperity.

The cow calmly walks beside the priest, who is said to be named 'Bahula'. She was brought from Sri Surabhi Go Ksetra, California. In the same video, a woman could be seen performing puja of the cow while she eats her food in the home.

Netizens react to the post

Once the video was shared on the internet, it soon went viral. While a part of social media lauded the family for keeping the Hindu traditions alive, the other half was left in splits. A user wrote, "As long as they are willing to clean any mess the cow creates, it's weird but not wrong." Another user penned, "Visa kaise mila." An Instagram user commented, "Happy that it is at least being fed properly, unlike here where these bovines have to look for food inside dustbins and trash." A user also shared, "Yaha ke leftist ki chaati me aag lag jayegi ye dekhkar." A comment read:

While many netizens appreciated the sentiment, others were heavily criticising the family. Many even suggested that the family should be deported. A user wrote, "Wow, they will do anything to leave India. And then remember and miss their home country when they reach abroad." Another user penned, "2025 still. Deport these kinds of ppl." Several users also pointed out how the animal in the video was an OX and not a cow. A user pointed out the duality of people in the comment section and wrote:

"I bet people in the comment would be applauding if it was a dog or a cat, it's his house and his money he can afford, and this wanna-be white Indians couldn't swallow it; pretty fascinating."
