A few months ago, a video of a girl dancing at a traffic signal in Indore had gone viral all over the internet. While the internet was divided in opinions, online abuse and social media bullying emerged once again. In the viral 30-second video, the girl was identified as ex-Roadies and model, Shreya Kalra, and in no time, the name was on top of the trending charts.
While Shreya Kalra had stated that the sole purpose of her dance video was to make people aware of COVID-19 and to advise them about the importance of wearing masks in public and following traffic rules. However, the authorities were unimpressed by her actions, and a case was filed against her. After all the controversy, Shreya had apologised to the public for her action, but the trolls kept on showering hateful comments on her, and now in an interview, Shreya has talked about the traumatic phase.

In an interview with ETimes, Shreya Kalra opened up about the FIR that was launched against her by the Indore police, followed by the severe backlash she received on social media after her dance video at a traffic signal at the Rasoma Square in Indore gone viral on the internet. She said, "They said, 'Ashleelta faila rahi hai yeh ladki' and there were so many allegations against me in just four days… I got depressed. I kept thinking how to handle this. People started trolling me, drop hate comments on my profile."
Going further in the interview, when Shreya Kalra was asked to reveal her parents' reaction to the whole controversial legal matter. The influencer added that it was a devastating situation for her family because she had never thought that people wouldn't be able to differentiate between a crime and mischief. "I was very anxious. This was the first time it was happening to me and I really got scared. I was getting calls. My mom was also very stressed. People said, 'She should go to jail for this.' I kept thinking that they just can't differentiate between a crime and mischief. I just spoke to my dad and he said everything will be fine as I was so stressed out."

Moving forward in the interview, Shreya Kalra also revealed that even after she had apologised to the public for her mistake, some people are still trolling and passing hateful comments on her every post without reason and solely for their fun. The ex-Roadies contestant said, "I posted another video, on the same song and my message was to let me move on. The thing that I did, please don't do it. I gave the statement that I wasn't influencing anyone to follow the same thing. But even then people were hating me. I was getting gaalis (abuses), hate comments and threats. I thought to myself that if I don't move on, people will keep pulling me down. I started posting normal stuff, so that people just forget." When Shreya Kalra was asked to open up about the reaction of her relatives to the whole controversy and whether she had received strong backing from them or not. The young diva clearly stated that everyone used to call her but not for extending their support but instead to have fun. She explained, "Relatives and cousins kept calling, people started poking in my life. They wanted to know 'ladki ka kya haal hai'. Nobody called to extend their help but they just called to hear gossip and have fun." At the end of the interview, Shreya Kalra stated that she had shifted back to Mumbai and had left Indore because people used to ask about her all the time in order to have some sort of gossip or controversy at their disposal. She explained, "My mom was quite stressed out, and my dad has been very supportive. He has seen a lot so he knows how things work. However, ghar ka mahaul thoda garam ho jata hai. I just shifted back to Mumbai. When I was in Indore, people kept asking about me. They need gossip."
