After a few years of marriage and a beautiful daughter, when Indraneil and Barkha decided to call it quits, it was disheartening for their fans.
Barkha Bisht is a popular name in the television world who has done a few supporting roles in Hindi as well as Bengali cinema. Some of the actress's popular shows include Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Pyaar Ke Do Naam: Ek Raadha Ek Shyaam, Doli Saja Ke, and a few others. On the other hand, Indraneil began his career as a model and later ventured into films and TV shows. He was seen in Hindi films like 1920, Kahaani, Satyagraha, and a few others.
Though Indraneil and Barkha had a successful professional life, their personal life didn’t see a happy ending. Despite being completely opposite to each other, Barkha and Indraneil got married and, years later, parted ways. Let us read on to know what went wrong between them.
In 2006, Indraneil and Barkha were cast in the TV show, Pyaar Ke Do Naam: Ek Raadha Ek Shyaam as the show’s lead stars. During the shooting, the duo became friends and spent time with each other. During their friendship, there were no sparks between them, but soon after the show was over, both Indraneil and Barkha started missing each other’s company. They started meeting each other over coffee and lunches and started dating.
After dating each other for a few years, Indraneil decided to propose to Barkha. In a total filmy style, he went down on his knees and proposed to his lady, to which she promptly said yes. Despite being completely opposite to each other, the duo got married in March 2008. In 2011, Indraneil and Barkha welcomed their daughter, Meira.
In 2020, it was reported that problems had struck Indraneil and Barkha’s paradise, and the couple had parted ways. In 2022, it was confirmed that the duo was officially divorced after 15 years of marriage. There were many stories after the news of their divorce made its way to the media. In an older interview with Zoom, Indraneil Sengupta revealed he and Barkha parted ways as they are completely different personalities. With time, the gap became wider, which made them take the decision to separate.
Ever since Indraneil and Barkha parted ways, the duo never worked together. It was certain that the separation was not amicable since both the actors never talked about what led to their separation. However, in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Barkha revealed that infidelity was the reason behind her broken marriage with Indraneil.
The actress revealed that she had a good marriage with Indraneil, but he chose to move out of the marriage. For the unversed, there have been several rumours about Indraneil's affair with Bengali actress, Ishaa Saha. Revealing how she was ready to forgive her husband despite being cheated on, Barkha said:
“I was among those women who would say that I would walk out of a marriage if I were cheated on, but when it actually happens to you, you realise it is easier said than done. I have no shame in saying that I would have forgiven Indraneil, and I even tried to save my marriage for two years after that. Indraneil made a choice—maybe he can justify it now. He can give you a hundred reasons why this marriage broke, but his actions are not on me. He has to justify them."
Despite being one of the most loved couples in the telly world, Indraneil Sengupta and Barkha Bisht couldn’t lead a forever journey with each other.
