In an interview, Barkha Bisht opened up about the rough phase in her relationship with ex-hubby, Indraneil Sengupta and how things took a toll on her single parenting. Read on to know more!
One of the most adored couples in the television industry, Barkha Bisht and Indraneil Sengupta had fallen in love with each other on the sets of their show, Pyaar Ke Do Naam: Ek Raadha, Ek Shyaam. And after dating for quite some time, the duo tied the knot on March 2, 2008, and in 2011, they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Meira. The family of three were living happily. However, destiny had some other plans for the couple. And since June 2021, the couple started living separately as they decided to part ways.
For the unversed, in June 2021, the reason behind the trouble in Indraneil Sengupta and Barkha Bisht had hit the headlines. As per reports, it was suggested to be his alleged proximity with Bengali actress, Ishaa Saha when he had shot for a film, Tarulotar Bhoot in West Bengal. However, the couple had rubbished the rumours and called them baseless. But if reports are to be believed, Indraneil has moved out of the duo's joint apartment since February-March 2021 and was living with his parents in the same building. Not just this, Barkha has even unfollowed Indraneil on Instagram.

Now, in an interview with the ETimes, Barkha Bisht opened up about her absence from showbiz for almost 2 years. For the unversed, she was last seen in the TV show, Shaadi Mubarak, and is returning to her work with Vikram Bhatt's directorial film, 1920 (third season of the original one, 1920, released in 2008). Barkha mentioned that since she is now a single mother, she cannot give huge time to a TV show which is required. However, talking about her interest in working with TV shows, she said:
"I did two web shows in past one year; one of them is with Suniel Shetty and another is also coming up soon. I would love to do TV and I see that shows are relatable when it comes to women and their journey in life. Like, there is a new show which has Shweta Tiwari and Manav Gohil that's coming up. I feel this is an interesting phase. I would love to do TV but in the last two years everyone knows it has not been an easy time for me personally. I am a single mother now and my daughter Meira needs me. We are shooting right now, hopefully, audiences will like my role."
Further, in the same conversation, Barkha mentioned her darling daughter, Meira who is in her growing period and requires huge attention from her parents. She talked about the necessity of parents or close ones to be with their kids during their growing period and added:
"Meira is in her growing up years and these days education and technology has changed so many things that it is important to spend time with your child and focus on them. If they are alone, they tend to get on to their gadgets or phones and stop studying. Since I am a single parent now, it is not easy to spend 25 days away from Meira in a month. But, if there is something really interesting or worthwhile, I would love to do it. I am not someone who feels that web is great and TV isn't. I am always grateful for the work I have got TV."
