sShivam Dube is among the most impressive and powerful left-hitter in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 31-year-old batter plays for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) but represents Mumbai in domestic cricket. Amidst CSK's not-so-impressive form in the IPL, the yellow army has placed their hopes on the shoulders of MS Dhoni and Shivam Dube. Although the cricketer isn't in full flow at the moment, he can potentially explode things.
In the last couple of years, Shivam Dube has been tremendous for CSK, sending spinners out of the stadium with his explosive batting style. Dube made his Twenty20 debut for Mumbai back in 2015 during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In 2016, the youngster was included in List A for Mumbai in the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy after making his mark in the Ranji Trophy and becoming the leading wicket-taker in the 2018 season with 23 dismissals.
Courtesy of his groundbreaking performance in Ranji Trophy 2018, Shivam Dube was bought by Royal Challengers Bengaluru during the auction for the 2019 IPL season. In the following years, he moved to Rajasthan Royals in 2021 and in 2022, he joined Chennai Super Kings. In the 2024 IPL, Shivam was retained by CSK for a staggering Rs. 4 crore. The cricketer repaid the faith CSK showed in him as he scored 51 runs in 23 balls in Gujarat Titans.
Chennai Super Kings batter, Shivam Dube is married to a woman named Anjum Khan. The couple got married in July 2021 as per the Hindu and Muslim customs. It was in 2022 when Shivam and Anjum welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Ayaan. The couple faced a lot of backlash from the public for their interfaith marriage, but they didn't pay any attention to the hate they were receiving on social media.
Talking about Anjum Khan's personal background, she is a model, actress, and a professional voice-over artist by profession. For the uninitiated, Anjum has a degree in Fine Arts which she attained from Aligarh Muslim University. After graduating, Anjum did modelling from 2017 to 2018. Not only this, she is also a multi-talented content creator. On January 3, 2025, Anjum and Shivam welcomed their second child, a baby girl, Mehwish.
Once, in an old interview with a leading publication, Chennai Super Kings batsman, Shivam Dube shared that he stopped playing cricket when he was 14. When asked the reason behind it, Shivam revealed that his family was under serious financial constraints, which was why he could not play cricket. However, he started playing cricket again when he turned 19 because he had reportedly started working in order to support his family. He said:
"I stopped playing cricket when I was 14 because of some financial constraints, couldn't really work on my fitness at that point of time. I returned to cricket only when I was 19 and gradually started to work on my fitness levels."
