This is exactly what happened at the wedding of the Bengali beauty, Archana Vijaya, who tied the knot with her boyfriend of two years, Dheeraj Puri, in a lavish beach wedding in Thailand, on February 4, 2015. As the IPL (Indian Premier League) host entered into a new phase of her life, we thought of bringing all the details of her beautiful wedding journey to all of you.

Our bride, Archana Vijaya, is a famous VJ and IPL host. She came into the industry after she won the reality supermodel hunt show, Get Gorgeous, in 2004. Thereafter, she participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi 6 and Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 5. This leggy lass has walked the ramp for various designers including Manish Malhotra, Ritu Kumar and Tarun Tahilani. The groom, Dheeraj Puri, unlike his wife, is not from the entertainment industry. He is a businessman who hails from Delhi.

Archana met Dheeraj at a common friend's wedding and that is where it all started from. Though they started dating soon after that, marriage was not on Archana's mind for sure. She was taken aback when Dheeraj proposed to her. Archana expressed the feelings she then had in one of her interviews, “I had met Dheeraj at a friend’s wedding two years ago. We were dating, but I did not want to talk about it. I had not thought about marriage at all. But, when he proposed, I accepted. He is a kind and charming man, and comes from a good family.” She said yes and the rest is history.

The two had a lavish beach wedding in Thailand! Truly, the kind of wedding that every girl dreams of. The star-studded wedding was a three-day affair in which, every event had a specific theme.
The wedding celebrations started with the mehendi cermony, which was called 'Vanilla Sky'. And, the dress code for the event was, 'Bright and Breezy'. Archana made a stunning style statement in a vibrant dress by Pia Pauro, while Dheeraj looked dapper in a Ratul Sood creation. The guests had a gala time at this fun-filled beach function.

The mehendi ceremony was followed by the sangeet, which was called the 'Moulin Rouge'. This classic and elegant affair’s dress code was ‘Parisian Glam’. The glamorous bride-to-be looked amazing in a Gauri and Nainika creation. And, Dheeraj showed his great taste as he chose to wear a quintessential black tuxedo by Rohit and Rahul. The old school jazz performances and the chic guests just added an oomph factor to the already fabulous wedding celebration.

Archana and Dheeraj tied the knot on February 4, 2015, in presence of their friends and family members. The venue for this fairytale wedding was Rayong beach, Thailand. The wedding had an absolutely dreamlike atmosphere, as it took place at the beachfront during sunset.
As unique this couple is, the choice of colour for their wedding ensemble was also distinct. The bride ditched all the tones of red and orange, and walked down the aisle in a mint green lehenga by Tarun Tahilani. Dheeraj too made sure that he matched his lady's taste, and looked dapper in a sherwani in a similar hue, by Shantanu and Nikhil. The wedding ceremony was followed by an all-night party at the nightclub of Marriott Resort and Spa, Rayong. The occasion was graced by Archana’s friends from the glam world, Pia Trivedi, Dino Morea, Riya Sen, Raima Sen, among others. Sports stars, Murali Kartik and Ritwik Bhattacharya, were also present at the wedding.
