Indian cricketer, Irfan Pathan received a lot of hate comments for blurring his wife, Safa Baig's face in a recent picture. There is no doubt that Irfan loves his darling wife, Safa, but he had never shown her face in his pictures on social media. On February 4, 2016, Ifran Pathan had gotten married to his wife, Safa Baig, who was a famous model in the Gulf countries.

The duo had happened to cross paths at a social gathering and despite the fact that Safa is 10-years-younger to Irfan, they had fallen in love with each other. On May 25, 2021, Irfan took to his Instagram handle and posted a lovely picture with his wife, Safa Baig and their son, Imran Pathan. In the picture, we can see Irfan giving a piggyback ride to his son while his wife, Safa looked gorgeous in a pink ensemble. However, Irfan blurred her face. He captioned the picture as "Together is our favourite place to be!"

Irfan's family picture gave netizens a reason to troll him. While a user asked the reason for blurring Safa's face, another wrote, "Banda duniya bhar ka Gyan pelate rahta hai progressive society ke upar. He can't even show the full face of her wife. Hypocrites." One user also called Irfan possessive for hiding his wife's face.

In January 2020, when Irfan had announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, his wife, Saba, who manages their son, Imran Pathan's Instagram handle had posted a cute note. It could be read as "You are a STAR! You’ve been a source of inspiration to millions and continue to spread your ray of sunshine everywhere you go! Your triumph is etched in our hearts! To new beginnings, many more chapters & feathers to add in your cap! Thank You daddy, for being YOU #2020 #irfanpathan." To this, Irfan had instantly replied, "Thank you for being in my life."

On February 28, 2021, when Safa had turned a year older and her hubby, Irfan had shared a lovely wish for her. The cricketer had posted a picture with her and had written, "Best day of my life when you were born. Happy birthday darling. #wifey #birthday."
In an interview with The Times of India, Irfan had talked about the importance of family. He had shared, "I consider myself very lucky to have parents who are so grounded. Not just me, I am sure there are many cricketers in India who have that good fortune. My parents taught me well and I am fortunate for that. They taught me to be simple; not just in terms of words but also in actions. The best thing parents can do for their children is to lead by example in their actions rather than in words. My parents have done that and I’m very proud of it"
