Being a celebrity isn’t a cakewalk as the media scrutiny over one’s life 24x7 makes it difficult for the stars to maintain their personal and professional life balance. Especially, with the advent of social media, no one thinks before commenting on celebrities and targeting them with trolls and negative messages. Even Irfan Pathan and Safa Baig became the target of the social media negativity. It was on August 6, 2018, when Irfan had posted a picture with his wife, Safa, where the couple can be seen enjoying at the valley. He had captioned it as “You are my friend today, forever and I love you #friendship #kashmir.”

Soon, comments had started pouring in as to why Irfan Khan had posted a picture in which his wife, Safa Baig doesn’t show her face. The trolls had targeted the religious sentiments, and some users had accused him for being a celebrity and following such customs where a woman cannot show her face, living in the 21st century. One of the Insta users had written, “hay bhagwan woh log itne bade celebrity hoke aise baaton ko support kaise karte hain.” But some netizens came in their support too and had commented, “Aisa Kuch bhi nahi h... Sabki apni Marji hai.... Koi shots pehenti hai to bolte ho besharam aur Koi apni haya ko cover Kare to bechari.....waah! trollers!!!” (Also Read: Mohena Kumari Singh's Twinning Picture With Hubby Suyesh Will Make You Sing 'Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan')

In an interview with The Times of India, Irfan Pathan had acknowledged the importance of family in his life and was quoted as saying, “I consider myself very lucky to have parents who are so grounded. Not just me, I am sure there are many cricketers in India who have that good fortune. My parents taught me well and I am fortunate for that. They taught me to be simple; not just in terms of words but also in actions. The best thing parents can do for their children is to lead by example in their actions rather than in words. My parents have done that and I’m very proud of it. This has kept me grounded and that structure at home has allowed me to stay focused, even when I achieved success. My parents, my brother and now my wife - these are the people who will be there no matter what. Wickets or no wickets, runs or no runs, they are always going to smile at me the same way, give me the same food and treat me the same. I’ve tried to keep life simple. After I play games, I come back to Baroda, my home. There are many cricketers who buy flats in Mumbai and Delhi and want to host parties, and that’s great for them, but I’ve kept my life simple.”

I am also thankful that my friends, cricketers with whom I have played, seniors and well-wishers from outside the cricket fraternity and even abroad have come to my hometown to bless us on this day. I couldn't have asked for more and with all their blessings, I am sure that we will have a great journey ahead." (Also Read: Genelia Deshmukh Wishes Her 'Forever' Riteish Deshmukh On 8th Anniversary, Makes A Beautiful Promise)
