Isabelle Kaif opened up on being compared to her elder sister, Katrina Kaif.
Katrina Kaif’s sister Isabelle marked her debut in Bollywood with Time To Dance starring Sooraj Pancholi and Waluscha De Sousa, which was released on March 12, 2021. The film garnered a mild response from the audience but people loved Isabelle on the silver screen. Now the actress has opened up on being compared to her elder sister, Katrina Kaif.

Talking to the Hindustan Times, Isabelle Kaif said that she has gotten used to the comparisons with her sister, Katrina Kaif and that it doesn’t affect her much now. She also revealed the one important piece of advice she received from her sister, Katrina. Isabelle will soon be seen in Suswagatam Khushaamadeed with Pulkit Samrat.
Talking about how did she got her debut film, Isabelle said, "I had auditioned for a few films, and this one came through. I was a dancer as a kid, and dancing is, of course, a big part of Bollywood. It's a passion for me. So, I thought it would be a challenge and fun." Isabelle further added that her interest in acting was in no way related to the fact that her sister was an actor. She said, "I watched Hindi films growing up, and I’ve had a hard time choosing a favourite. It depends on my mood. I love Jab We Met, Lagaan, I’ve watched it so many times as a teenager." Talking about the inescapable comparisons with her sister Katrina, Isabelle said, "I know it. People have been doing it for years, and I've got used to it by now. It doesn't really play on me too much anymore." Isablle also metioned that Katrina always tells her to keep her head down and focus on her work.

In an interview with the Filmfare, Isabelle Kaif had talked about how fortunate she is to have Katrina Kaif as her sister. Talking about taking words of wisdom from her, Isabelle had said, “Of course, I do. I think it would be foolish not to (laughs). Katrina is so good at what she does and she's also such a success in the industry. It makes complete sense, as she knows how things work (in the industry). Funnily enough, we rarely see each other as she is always shooting and nowadays, I'm always in rehearsals. But how can you have such a fountain of knowledge and wisdom with you, and not have her share it with you?”
How she admired Katrina Kaif for her work and have her as a mentor to make her place in the industry, Isabelle Kaif had remarked, “I have admired her from the beginning. At the end of the day, family is most important as they are the ones who you can always fall back on. They are going to be there for you and will always want the best (for you) as well. It’s definitely helpful in any industry to have a mentor, guide, advisor or someone with that kind of experience to help you with what you want to do and giving advice. So, she can tell me, ‘avoid this as these are the pitfalls or this is what really works’. It’s great to have a person who has kind of already tried and tested everything and knows what works in the industry. So, I think I am really lucky to have her as a mentor of sorts. She is always going to have my back with no ulterior motives, because ultimately, she is family.”
