There is no 'buddy' like a brother! And we totally love the brotherhood of Shahid Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. Recently, Ishaan revealed the name of his favourite Shahid Kapoor's ex-girlfriend.
Shahid Kapoor has always made our heart flutter with his amazing dance moves and impeccable acting skills. And while he still continues to rule everyone’s heart, his half-brother, Ishaan Khatter is no different. He has already made his way to everyone's heart with his stunning role opposite Janhvi Kapoor in Dhadak. Ishaan has never minded being known as Shahid Kapoor’s brother but he has also outlived his brother’s shadow. In fact, he has often said that he is not in the Tinseltown to make his own separate identity away from his brother’s name, rather he is here to show his worth.
While we still cannot get over Ishaan and Shahid’s phenomenal bonding on the Koffee couch, the duo yet again graced the couch on Neha Dhupia’s chat show. However, what became the highlight of the show was one of the revelations made by Ishaan. In a segment, he was asked to name his favourite among Shahid’s ex-girlfriends. To which, he replied, “Oh gosh! Remember when Shahid appeared on Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee With Karan season-6, with Ishaan Khatter, he had talked about his modern family situation, and had shared, “When my mom got married for the second time she was pretty clear she didn’t want a second baby because she felt like, you know, it was pretty late, she got married in her early 30s. I kept pestering her saying that it is not fair, I deserve a sibling. And she literally had Ishaan for me. I begged her for two or three years. And finally, she gave in and said ‘Alright, I am gonna have one’”.
In an earlier interview with the PTI, Ishaan had talked about Shahid and the place he holds in his heart. He had stated, “He is almost like a teacher, he is a paternal figure in my life. I learned so much by watching him. I can't possibly consider myself a competition with him. In fact, I would say we are a team.”
In another interview with the Hindustan Times, Ishaan had revealed how he had learned his craft from his brother, Shahid, and had shared, “His first film (Ishq Vishk) released in 2003. I was eight when he became a film star. I was fascinated by it all. So I’d run around with him on his sets. I was on his sets almost every day. I’d watch the actors, the cinematographers... Initially, I loved him and idolised him. Then I started watching his films more seriously. I started asking him questions like how he prepared for a certain role, what inspired him or how he enacted a particular role. Eventually, I was able to assist in a film (Udta Punjab), in which he was also performing. I had my own set of responsibilities as well. It was interesting as I was both objective and subjective.
