He shared, "I've had to face comparisons with my dad (Kumar Sanu) since childhood. People don't really care about your age factor because that is one of the biggest factors. The singer further added how he broke those bonds and comparisons. In his words, “I have just started out but people don't care about that. They compare a 27-year-old to a 64-year-old. Even when I was a kid, my dad started his career when he was 32 but people don't recognise unfortunately. Ya, I've had to face all of that but I have broken out of those bonds and overcome these hurdles in life."

Jaan also talked about the pressure he felt, crooning his father’s song, Humko Sirf Tumse Pyaar Hai. Calling it the biggest challenge of his life, Jaan concluded, "Honestly the biggest pressure for me was to make sure that I do not sound like my dad. Because this song and the voice that my dad has, it is so synonymous that it is difficult not to sing like him because we all have heard this song in his voice so frequently that it becomes difficult to come out of that zone. and sing. So that was the biggest challenge for me."
