Throwback to a time when Janhvi Kapoor had recalled the last words she spoke to her mother, Sridevi before the latter jetted off to her fateful Dubai trip.
Jahnvi Kapoor is one of the most talked about actresses in the young generation of Bollywood stars. She had made her successful debut in the Hindi film industry with the 2018 film, Dhadak opposite Ishaan Khatter. Ever since, she hasn’t looked back on her professional career. Being the daughter of eminent filmmaker, Boney Kapoor and late legendary actress, Sridevi, Janhvi has lived up to the expectations of the fans with her brilliant acting chops.
The unexpected and tragic death of legendary actress, Sridevi in the year 2018 had been one of the most talked-about incidents, which had shocked everyone. But more than her fans who had bereaved the loss of such an icon, the times were extremely painful for the actress’ family, especially her then young-daughters, Janhvi and Khushi. Well, in her first interview with Vogue, after the loss of her mother, Janhvi Kapoor, in a conversation with Karan Johar, had recalled the last words she had with her mom, Sridevi. She recollected that at time, Sridevi was busy packing for her fateful trip to Dubai. Speaking more on it, she mentioned:
“The day before she left for the wedding, I had to shoot, but I couldn’t sleep, so I was like, I need you to come and put me to sleep. But she was packing, so by the time she came to me I was half asleep. But I could feel her patting my head".

In the same interview, Janhvi further spoke about how her family had gradually come to terms and was coping up with the tragedy. She revealed that it had been a tough time for her, as well as her father, Boney Kapoor and her sister, Khushi Kapoor. Moreover, she added that the loss of their mother would never get fulfilled. In her words:
“The family has come together. It’s made us feel safe and secure. Even for papa, it’s a source of comfort. It has definitely tied us together. We’ve lost mum, and I don’t think that’s a loss any of us will ever get over.”
In one of her earlier interviews with Barkha Dutt, Janhvi Kapoor had spoken up about the tragic episode of her mother, Sridevi’s death in her life. While it was indeed a tough time, nonetheless, Janhvi expressed that she had felt a weird sense of relief after her mother, Sridevi passed away. Elaborating more on it, she highlighted that at that time, she had started to treat this tragedy of her life as a befitting punishment for all the privileges that she had gained in her life. Like every child, Janhvi Kapoor had been raised between two extremely lovable and protective parents, who had made sure to wish everything best for their child. While Janhvi might have lost her mother, nevertheless she continues to have her dad’s amiable presence and an abundance of memories from her mom to live on with. Proof of the same was found in one of Janhvi’s earlier interviews, where she recalled her mother, Sridevi’s dramatic reactions about her dating life. She mentioned:
“Mom and dad were very dramatic about it (dating). They would say when you like a guy, come to us and we’ll get you married. And I’m like what!? You know we don’t have to get married to every guy we like. Like we can be chill also. And then mom would be like chill, what does chill mean?”
