If Sridevi Kapoor would have been leading a merry life, she would have been celebrating her 56th birthday on August 13, 2019. Although she isn’t present physically with us, but as they say, legends never die and so does Sridevi. While the entire Kapoor clan had posted heartfelt birthday remembrances for the late actress on her birth anniversary, a post from Madame Tussauds Singapore’s Twitter handle had taken our breaths away! Her figure is one of its kind in the world, and it’s an exclusive addition to Madame Tussauds Singapore!#Sridevi.”
And what looks like it, the day is finally here when Sridevi Kapoor’s wax statue will be unveiled in Singapore. For the same, her daughter, Janhvi Kapoor was papped at the airport, while she made her entry. Decked in a casual shirt and jeans, Janhvi was all smiles and happily waved at the media while getting inside. Boney Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor had left last night for Singapore. Here are the videos:
Yesterday, on September 02, 2019, Sridevi Kapoor’s hubby, Boney Kapoor had taken to Twitter and posted a teaser of the final touches being made to the wax statue. Going by the looks, we can be sure that Sridevi’s waxed avatar will be an ‘exclusive addition’ at the Madame Tussauds Singapore museum as she will stand in her famous, Hawa Hawai mode. As per reports, a group of 20 artists had worked, coordinating with the Kapoor family for over 5 months to finish the masterpiece. Sharing a glimpse, Boney ji wrote, “Sridevi lives forever in not just our hearts but also in the hearts of millions of her fans. Eagerly waiting to watch the unveiling of her figure at Madame Tussauds, Singapore on September 4, 2019. #SrideviLivesForever.” Madame Tussauds Singapore had posted the same video and had written, “One more day to the official launch of Sridevi's first and only unique wax figure in Madame Tussauds Singapore! Do not forget to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter as we release more information in time to come! #MadameTussaudSG #MTSG #SrideviMTSG #Sridevi.” The wax of Sridevi Kapoor is a tribute to the actress for the applaud-worthy work that she had done in the field of entertainment. Lizzie Parkinson, a costumier from Merlin Magic Making team in the UK, had stated, "It was a privilege to recreate such a legendary star in close collaboration with her family. What made this project particularly challenging and interesting was the recreation of her outfit. Her crown, cuffs, earrings and dress brooch were 3D-printed and went through numerous tests to achieve the level of detail needed. It was a joy to see everyone's work come together and we look forward to unveiling the figure soon." Call it her charisma, her acting skills, her beauty- Sridevi was a complete package of good looks and talent. One year has passed since Sridevi’s demise and her husband, Boney Kapoor has time and again, shared how much he misses his wife. To commemorate one year of Sridevi’s death, the doting hubby had, on February 2019, auctioned a favourite purple kota saree of the actress and the money earned through the same went to a non-profit charitable trust. The bidding amount had begun from Rs 40,000 and had already touched up to a whopping Rs 1,30,000 and had gone even beyond. Sharing a memoir of Sridevi and some details about the bid, the statement at the Parisera website could be read as “While the entire industry was awestruck by the unstoppable phenomenon called Sridevi, the audience was falling in love with a woman who was a firecracker in disguise. Only a few actors can be remembered for their screen names, Sridevi was definitely one of them.” It had concluded with, “She started her career as a child artist and quickly catapulted the hierarchy to become one of India’s first female superstars. This iconic actress was also revered for her fashion choices. She dazzled in Kanjivarams and looked like a mini-constellation. Her fans have always adored her saris, and it is perfect that the Kapoor family decided to auction one of her favourite saris. They have partnered with Concern India Foundation and have chosen Parisera as the online portal. We are humbled beyond words to bring you this sari.” Another statement pertaining to the same could be read as “Being born in a South-Indian household, the actress has worn saris as a badge of her identity and has always infused a sense of unique charisma into its pleats. For the auction, the family has chosen a Kota sari. It is light, bright and emanates the perfect essence of Sridevi. Its versatility is widely known, this stylish weave can be worn to a reception, soirée or to a simple party. Handmade silver trinkets or a string of pearls will enhance the beauty of this luxurious weave.” Guys, how excited are you to see the full picture of Sridevi’s wax statue? Stay tuned!ADVERTISEMENT
