Janhvi Kapoor On Fond Memories Of Sridevi As She Starts Shooting For Telugu Film: 'Ghar Aa Gayi..'

As Janhvi Kapoor began to shoot for her next upcoming film, which would mark her Telugu debut, she recalled fond memories of the late actress, Sridevi.

Janhvi Kapoor is one of the most loved star kids in Bollywood. The elder daughter of Boney Kapoor and Sridevi, made her debut in Bollywood with the movie, Dhadak, in 2018. However, she is all set to mark her debut in the Telugu film industry with the movie, Devara opposite Jr NTR. For those who don't know, Sridevi was not only a leading actress in Bollywood, but she had a massive fanbase in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada film industries. She made her debut in the South Indian film industry at the age of 4 years and carved a soft spot in the heart of cine-lovers. Now that Janhvi has reached 'home', she has recollected the good memories of her late mom.

Janhvi Kapoor recalls fond memories of her mom, Sridevi

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Janhvi Kapoor stated that it had taken her a lot of time to learn the Telugu language as it's her first film in Telugu, and she doesn't know much of it. Talking more about the same, Janhvi walked down memory lane and stated her mom, Sridevi used to speak Hindi and English at home, but whenever they came to Chennai, the late actress used to talk in Tamil. Elaborating more on it, Janhvi stated:

"It’s my first Telugu film. so a lot of my time is spent learning the dialogue as I don’t speak the language. My mum spoke to us in Hindi and English at home. But whenever we went to Chennai (Tamil Nadu), more often than not. she would speak in Tamil. I am more familiar with Tamil than I am with Telugu.”

Janhvi Kapoor reveals it's spiritual for her to work in the South Indian film industry

Going further in the interview, Janhvi Kapoor revealed that working in the South Indian film industry feels like homecoming to her. The actress mentioned that she has been feeling connected to everyone on the sets. Talking about the reason behind the same, Janhvi stated that she doesn't know if it is because of the emotional attachment to her mum, but it's all things spiritual for her. Talking about the same, Janhvi mentioned:

"I feel ki main ghar aa gayi hoon. Everyone on set feels like my own. I don’t know if It’s because of my intense emotional attachment to mum or if l am feeling attached to her by doing a film down south. It’s spiritual."

When Janhvi Kapoor talked about receiving loads of love from the South Indian film industry

Earlier, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Janhvi Kapoor opened up about receiving love from the South Indian film industry. Janhvi Kapoor mentioned that it is like returning home. She also shared that the reason behind the immense love from the South industry is because her mom, Sridevi's legacy, is still there. She also mentioned that she wants to return the love to the audience, and she has been trying hard to do the same.

When Boney Kapoor revealed Sridevi watched Janhvi Kapoor's movie, Dhadak

The sudden demise of the late actress Sridevi left the entire nation heartbroken. However, what was even more heartwrenching was that Sridevi passed away even before her daughter's debut film could be released. In an interview with ETimes, Boney was asked if it makes him disappointed that Sridevi couldn't watch Janhvi making her debut in Bollywood.
