Janhvi Kapoor opened up about her love for her mom, Sridevi's films. The diva also revealed some unheard anecdotes about her mom.
Janhvi Kapoor is one of the much-loved star kids in Bollywood. The elder daughter of Boney Kapoor and Sridevi made her acting debut with the movie, Dhadak. However, it was Sridevi's sudden demise, even before the release of her daughter's first film that left the latter with utter sadness. Now and then, Janhvi opens up about her mom and provides her fans with unheard anecdotes. And yet the same happened again, as Janhvi Kapoor talked about one of the fondest memories that she has with the late actress, Sridevi.
Janhvi Kapoor recently graced the AajTak Agenda event. While being there, the actress was asked to recall the moment when she watched her mom's first film. To this, Janhvi revealed an unheard anecdote and mentioned that Sridevi never liked to watch her own films, and because of it, the former had to hide to watch her mom's films. Janhvi also added that she actually was troubled by the same. Sharing why she was enraged after watching her mom's film, English Vinglish, Janhvi said:
"You know, actually.. mumma would never like to watch her own films, she used to hate it and I would hide and watch it, but I would be very troubled like I watched Chalbaaz as a kid and Manju was my favourite character, because Even English Vinglish was difficult for me to watch since her daughter (Sapna) would bother her so much in the film that I would become enraged!"

Further in the interview, Janhvi Kapoor mentioned that she needed some time to start viewing her mom's films, and she started with Mr. India. Talking about one of her fondest memories, Janhvi stated that she watched Sadmaa with her mom, and got furious at the end, as Sridevi's character in the film forgot Kamal Haasan's character. Janhvi recalled how she hadn't talked to her mom for two days for the same reason. She stated:
"It took me a while to start viewing her films, and I guess I started with the simpler, lighter ones - Mr India, of course, but my greatest recollection is of Sadmaa. I remember seeing Sadmaa with my mother, and by the end, I was furious with her because of the finale - she forgets Kamal sir's character after being taken care of by him in the film... and I felt so awful that why did you forget Kamal sir... and I didn't speak to her for two days. I was extremely shaken."
In one segment of the interview, Janhvi Kapoor got emotional while talking about Sridevi. The actress stated that when she started her career, she was scared of the comments about 'unfair advantage', so she kind of detached herself from her mom, and wouldn't let the late actress come on the sets with the former. Talking more about the same, Janhvi stated how she regrets it now that she took people's 'unnecessary opinions' in her head and said that she should have asked her mom to guide the diva, who was dying to do the same.
Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, Janhvi Kapoor's dad, Boney Kapoor was asked whether it's been disappointing for him and his family that Sridevi couldn't watch Janhvi's debut film. To this, the eminent filmmaker revealed that during the time the legendary actress was alive, she watched the rushes of Janhvi's debut film, Dhadak.
