During their appearance on 'Koffee With Karan 8', Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor opened up about the time they came to know about their mom, Sridevi's demise.
Late actress, Sridevi was one of the rare gems of Bollywood. The actress used to rule the silver screens with her presence during the 80s and 90s. For the unversed, Sridevi passed away in February 2018 due to accidental drowning in Dubai. The actress was attending her husband, Boney Kapoor's nephew, Arjun Marwah’s wedding when the news of her death circulated online. Sridevi's sudden demise sent shockwaves in the entire nation.
As Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor graced the recent episode of Koffee With Karan 8, they opened up about their mother, Sridevi's death. During the show, Janhvi revealed that she learned about her mother's death through a phone call and immediately ran to Khushi. She added that she heard Khushi wailing in her room, but the latter stopped crying as soon as she noticed Janhvi was crying. Fighting back her tears, Janhvi said:
“When I got the call, I was in my room and I could hear wailing from Khushi’s room. I think I barged into her room, hauling and crying but what I do remember is she looked at me and the minute she looked at me, she just stopped crying. She just sat next to me and started comforting me and I’ve never seen her cry about it since.”

Indeed, losing their darling mother, Sridevi was a heartbreaking moment for Janhvi and Khushi. Speaking along the same lines, Khushi added that she realised that she had to hold her emotions back for her family and stay strong. Khushi said:
“I felt like I had to hold it together for everyone because I feel like I’ve always been the strong one.”
Janhvi and Khushi always speak highly of their late mother, Sridevi, and often pay heartfelt tribute to her. During the same episode, Janhvi also opened up about the similarities between Khushi and their mother. The actress mentioned that Khushi is very quiet person just like Sridevi and added:
"She is very quiet person and I think that is one thing she has in common with Mumma. But in front of the camera, she just explodes."

Sridevi and her producer husband, Boney Kapoor broke all the barriers of society to be together. For the unversed, Sridevi and Boney tied the knot in 1996 when the latter was still married to his first wife, Mona Shourie. Later, in the year 1997, Sridevi and Boney hopped onto their parenthood journey after they welcomed their daughter, Janhvi Kapoor. And with the arrival of their second daughter, Khushi Kapoor in 2000, their family got completed. The family of four was living a blissful life, until 2018, when Sridevi left for her heavenly abode, leaving her husband and daughters behind.
