In a recent interview, Janhvi Kapoor opened up about her mom, late Sridevi's stardom and shared that no one can match her legacy. Check it out!
Late actress, Sridevi was an epitome of beauty, who carved a niche for herself in the Indian film industry in no time. She made her debut as a child artist at the mere age of four years with the Tamil film, Kandhan Karunai. Later, it was in 1972, when she made her debut in Bollywood with the film, Rani Mera Naam. She went on to act in many movies like Himmatwala, Mr India, Chandni, Nagina, Khuda Gawah and Laadla and many others. However, she took hiatus and embraced motherhood, and made a comeback in 2012 with the film, English Vinglish.
On the personal front, Sridevi married filmmaker, Boney Kapoor, and the couple was blessed with two daughters, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor. However, on February 24, 2018, Sridevi left for her heavenly abode after she passed away due to accidental drowning in a hotel's bathtub in Dubai. Her untimely demise left a huge void in her family members' hearts, who miss her terribly every day of their lives.

In a recent interview with the Good Times, Janhvi Kapoor opened up about her late mother, Sridevi’s stardom and shared that she wasn't even born when her mother was at the peak of her career. However, the doting daughter added that whatever she has heard from people about her late mother's legacy, she is sure that nobody can replace her mommy. Talking about the same, she said:
“I don’t think anyone will come close to my mother’s stardom. I wasn’t there when she was shooting and at her peak because I was born after she took a break from movies. But, of course, I got a sense of it, with people speaking so passionately about her films, performances, the kind of person she was on set, her contribution… I think it’s rare and doesn’t happen twice. It’s just a once-in-a-lifetime.”
There is no denying that Janhvi Kapoor was very close to her late mother, Sridevi, and ever since the latter's demise, Janhvi has been missing her mom every day. On October 6, 2021, Janhvi took a walk down memory lane and shared a glimpse of a tattoo that she had got etched on her arm. The tattoo was a handwritten note from her mother, and it was indeed priceless. The note could be read as:
"I love you my labbu."

August 13, 2022, marked the late actress, Sridevi's birth anniversary, and her daughter, Janhvi Kapoor shared a throwback picture with her. The priceless photo showed the loving mother, Sridevi, hugging her daughter, Janhvi from behind. In the picture, Sridevi could be seen wearing a red silk saree paired with subtle makeup and a braided hairdo. On the other hand, Janhvi looked the cutest in a sky-blue-coloured frock. Sharing the picture, the doting daughter had penned:
"Happy birthday Mumma. I miss you more and more everyday. I love u forever."
On the work front, Janhvi Kapoor was last seen in the film, Good Luck Jerry.
