Can’t stop laughing, right? Did you know Saif Ali Khan wanted his daughter, Sara Ali Khan for the role of Alaya Furniturewala in the film? In a throwback interview with the Mumbai Mirror, Saif had revealed that he would have loved to work with Sara in the film, but she was occupied with other projects. Saif was quoted as saying, "I would have loved to have Sara in the film, but that would have meant her choosing this project over everything else she is doing as we wanted it to be the first film of the person we would cast. Sara's career trajectory is in a good place and in a way I'm happy it's separate from mine at the moment. We are very excited to launch Alaia with this film and she is perfect for the part." (Also Read: Taimur Ali Khan Calls Saif 'Sardar Ji' After Seeing Him In Udaybhan Singh's Avatar From 'Tanhaji')

In an interview with the Mid-Day, Saif Ali Khan had referred to Alaya as a perfect choice for the role. He had stated, “She has all the qualities we were looking for in the young lead, the charm and energy to take the film to the level that it needs. Speaking of Saif Ali Khan, he is a proud father of three kids, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan from his first wife, Amrita Singh and Taimur Ali Khan from his second wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan. Despite his busy schedule, Saif makes sure to spend time with his children, especially his three-year-old son, Taimur. Saif often takes Taimur on his sets and in-between-shots, plays with his little munchkin. Stating how obsessed Saif is with Taimur, Kareena had once cited an incident on her show, What Women Want, as to how he had once made up his mind to cancel a shoot in order to be with his chote Nawab! Sharing about the same, Bebo had revealed that Saif had stated, “Nahi nahi, cancel the shoot. I can't go. I can't leave Taimur.” Kareena had further added, “I'm like you have to go, you have to go to work. And I have to tell him that I want to be with you also now sometimes alone”. To this her sister-in-law, Soha Ali Khan had laughed off and said that she can see it in Saif. Soha too had recalled, “He is so in love with spending time with Taimur. We've organised playdates and I have got calls saying Taimur can't come because he's hanging out with sir.”

In an interview a few months ago, when Sara Ali Khan was asked if she ever discusses about work with her father, Saif Ali Khan, the Kedarnath debutante had stated, “He [Saif Ali Khan] looks at me like I'm a traitor for discussing films. He lives with Kareena [Kapoor], is a brother to Soha, and is an actor's son. So, now, if I discuss work, he's like, 'Please don't do this to me.' So, we don't talk about films often. We talk about history, argue about what Hitler's motivations were, or who was wrong in the Cold War. Sometimes, we discuss religion and how different beliefs and social systems came about. We both enjoy culture, travelling, good food, and great conversations." (Also Read: Kareena Kapoor Khan Speaks About The Whopping Salary That Taimur Ali Khan's Nanny Gets)
