Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been one rarest divas from the Indian film industry who has proven to the world the art of nailing professional and personal fronts with equal finesse. Former Miss World, Aishwarya has a plethora of almost thousands of films across different languages and yet she carries herself with equal grace and humility when it comes to her life behind the camera. Speaking about her personal life, she is married to talented actor, Abhishek Bachchan and is also a mommy of their daughter, Aaradhya. Moreover, much like her fans who simply dote on her every single day, she also happens to be the apple of the eyes of her in-laws who treat her no less than their own daughter.

Jaya Bachchan revealed her habit of never doing any politics behind Aishwarya’s back

Aishwarya Rai was at the peak of her career when she became the bahu of one of the most prestigious film families in Bollywood. But never for once has she ever let her stardom speak for herself in conducting her interpersonal relationships, especially with her parents-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. Thus, they share a wonderful bond with her right from the very first day and treat her no different from a daughter of the family. Proof of the same was found once when Jaya Bachchan in an interview with Rediff revealed the kind of bond she shares with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and highlighted how like any other usual mother-in-law, she never indulges in doing dirty politics behind her back. In her words:

“She is my buddy. If I don't like something about her, I tell her on her face. I don't do politics behind her back. If she disagrees with me, she expresses herself. Only difference is that I can be little more dramatic and she has to be more respectful. I am old, you know. That's all. We really enjoy sitting at home and talking rubbish. Just the two of us. She doesn't have much time, but whatever she does, we enjoy. I have a great relationship with her.”

Abhishek Bachchan recalled wifey, Aishwarya teaming up with his mother, Jaya against him

Well, the two important ladies of the Bachchan family, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan indeed share a bond like no other. They have long since crossed the boundaries of a relationship between a mother-in-law and her bahu and have instead become the best of friends. Proof of the same was found in an interview of Abhishek Bachchan with DNA where he revealed how his wife and mother team up against him and start speaking in Bengali so as to irritate him. In his words:

“Ma and Ash gang up against me and they keep rattling on in Bengali. Mom knows the language because she is Bengali and Aishwarya had worked with Rituda (the late Rituparno Ghosh) in Chokher Bali, so she also can speak the language quite well. So whenever they have to team up against me, they start talking in Bengali."

When Jaya Bachchan said she wished Aishwarya Rai to shoulder all her burdens

Jaya Bachchan is a doting saasu-maa to her bahu, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and on many occasions she has proven the same. However, it was once one of her comments prior to Aishwarya’s marriage to her son, Abhishek that had created a stir in public for its assumingly pressurising tone. Well, it so happened that Jaya Bachchan had graced the celebrity chat show, Koffee With Karan along with her daughter, Shweta Nanda back in 2007. As this was a time right before Abhishek and Aishwarya were about to tie the knot, Karan Johar had enquired Jaya if she was going to share her domestic issues with Aishwarya from then onwards. To this, Jaya mentioned that she would make her take a part in it and lots more. Moreover, when her daughter, Shweta advised her not to do it since it would scare Aishwarya, she quipped that she would make her bahu get used to it slowly. In her words:

Jaya Bachchan’s praise for Aishwarya for being a patient listener

While the comment of shouldering the responsibilities was a tad bit wrong perspective for many, it was later Jaya’s heaped praises for Aishwarya that was loved by many. In the same interaction, Jaya praised Aishwarya’s habit of not forcing her stature and presence when all the family members are there together and highlighted her habit of staying grounded and behind the seniors of the family. She said:

“She is lovely. I love her. I have always loved her. I have never ever seen her push herself whenever we are all together. I like that quality of hers to stand behind. She is quiet. She listens and she is taking it all in. And another beautiful thing is that she has fitted in so well in the family. She knows who are our good friends."
