Veteran actress, Jaya Prada got sentenced to six months jail and a fine of Rs. 5000 by the Chennai court in connection with an unpaid ESI scandal.
Jaya Prada is one of the most beautiful and talented actresses of her generation. She has marked her name in the heart of millions, courtesy of her evergreen beauty and unparalleled acting skills. The veteran actress made her acting debut with the film, Siri Siri Muvva, in 1976. Later, she went on to work in blockbuster films like Sharaabi, Sargam, Tohfa, Maa, aaj Ka Arjun, Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani, Maqsad, and many more. However, now, it seems like everything is not well in Jaya's life. As per the latest reports, the actress has been sentenced to six months jail by the Chennai court.
On August 11, 2023, the veteran actress, Jaya Prada got sentenced a jail for 6 months by the Egmore court in Chennai. The actress has been pronounced to six months imprisonment along with a fine of Rs. 5000 in connection with an unpaid ESI scandal. Jaya's business partners, Ram Kumar and Raja Babu were also found guilty in the case along with her.

Talking about the case, it so happened that Jaya and her partners, Ram and Raja run a cinema theatre in Rayapeta, Chennai. However, their venture suffered heavy losses, due to which they had to shut down the theatre. After this, the staff members working at the theatre filed a case against Jaya Prada and her partners for not repaying the ESI amount, which was deducted from their salaries.
Later, the Labour Government Insurance Corporation filed a case against Jaya Prada, and her partners, Ram Kumar and Raja Babu, at the Egmore Magistrate Court in Chennai. After the court heard the case, it announced the verdict of imprisonment and fine. Moreover, as per the reports, Jaya had promised to clear all the dues and even requested the court to dismiss her case. But, the court dismissed her plea and sentenced her to jail for six months and charged a fine of Rs. 5000.

Talking about Jaya Prada's personal life, she was the most stunning actress in the 70s and 80s. She was born to a film financier, Krishna Rao and Neelaveni. In 1985, the actress came under the radar of the Income Tax department, and the incident left her emotionally drained. However, during this time only, she met the love of her life, Srikant Nahata. And despite being married and a father of three kids, Srikant tied the knot with Jaya in 1986. However, the couple didn't have any children of their own, which is why Jaya adopted her sister's son, Siddu.
