Despite being India's most famous comedian, Johnny Lever's daughter, Jamie, had her share of struggles, but she paved her path. The comedian shared people's harsh comments on her looks.
Johnny Lever is a legendary comedian and actor who is known for his hit roles in the Hindi cinema. On the other hand, his daughter, Jamie Lever, despite initial struggles and hiccups, created her own name and had her share of struggles and insecurities. Despite it, Jamie made her own path and showed her worth to the world. Recently, she talked about facing judgements and critising her for her looks.
Recently, Jamie Lever appeared on Chhavi Mittal's podcast, wherein she was questioned about facing people's judgements and harsh remarks over the year and how it affected her confidence. Jamie shared that she went through it a lot. She revealed that growing up, she was constantly told her nose was too big. One day, she was doing a photoshoot, and a makeup artist made a mean remark. Recalling it, Jamie said:
"One day I was doing a photoshoot and makeup artist said iska cutting karna padega naak bahut bada hai. It breaks you. It's like you are never going to be good enough."
Not only this, Jamie revealed that she was an obese child and had a weight loss journey. She shared that it wasn't easy as she had PCOS, struggled with her weight and had been through it all. Jamie shared that she was also told that big hips are not good, so she would always cover her lower body. She stated:
"I was always told big hips are an embarrassment, and you have to cover them up. So, growing up years I have always covered my lower body with longer t-shirts and kurtis. I always had a wardrobe like that. It had taken me a lot of years to realise that this is beautiful. You know my curves are beautiful, and people aspire to have a body like that. And also I would give some credits to Kardashians, who made the booty really famous. So after that people are like wow actually curves look beautiful. So, it's taken a lot of time to be comfortable in my skin."
Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, Jamie revealed that it was difficult for her to crack it, and her father knew that people would criticise and judge her; they would be hard on her as she was Johnny Lever's daughter. So, he told her that she would cry before going out. Jamie was quoted as saying:
"He (Johnny Lever) was really tough on me because he knew, it's difficult here and he's seen the struggle himself. He felt that people will criticise and judge me, they will be hard on me because I am Johnny Lever's daughter, who's done 300-400 movies. He very well knew people will be hard on me, so he would say, 'tu bahar jaane se pehle yahan ro le taaki bahar rona na pade'."
