Juhi Parmar opened up about the challenges of being a single parent and how society perceives it.
Juhi Parmar is riding high in her professional life as she made her debut on OTT with the show, Yeh Meri Family 2. The stunning actress is hailed for her excellent performance in the show, where she is portraying the role of a working mother. In a recent interview, Juhi revealed that she could not connect to her reel-life character as in real life she is a single parent.
Talking to News18 Showsha, Juhi revealed how single parenting is totally different as the mother has to play the role of both parents. In her words:
“That kind of connect wasn’t there simply because in my real life, I am a single mother and in Yeh Meri Family, she is not. Single parenting is totally different. It is playing the role of a mother and a father, both and not having a partner who is going to take half of your responsibilities. However, I could relate to the emotions of a mother. That does not change with being a single parent or being married and having a child. Emotion remains the same.”

She also stated that her daughter should never feel that since her parents are separated, something is incomplete/lacking in her life.
Going further in the conversation, Juhi also revealed how she is judged by society for being a single parent. Revealing how people say that it is always a woman’s fault, the Kumkum actress stated:
“From society to people around me, they have always come up to me and said ‘You are doing a great job as a mother’ and ‘you inspire us’. Yes, there are judgments. There are people who will say that it must have been a woman’s fault only. You really can’t go out and change them. They need to look within themselves and understand from where so much of negativity and hatred is coming. They need to fix that. It is easy to judge and difficult to be in somebody’s shoes and understand why a decision like this was taken.”
