However, with the weddings already scheduled during this time, couples are opting for a low-key ceremony with only their closest relatives and friends. Adhering to the COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines, intimate weddings are still taking place in our country and Badminton player, Jwala Gutta's wedding would be no different. Jwala is all set to tie the knot with actor-producer of Tamil films, Vishnu Vishal on April 22, 2021.

To share the news of their wedding, Jwala Gutta and Vishnu Vishal posted an official announcement on their respective social media handles. The statement could be read as "With the blessing of our families, it gives us immense joy in sharing the news of our marriage, in a private affair in presence of near & dear - We are getting married. We thank you for all the love you have showered upon is over the years and seek blessings as we embark on this journey of love, loyalty, friendship and togetherness." While Jwala captioned her post with a folded hands emoji, Vishnu tweeted, "LIFE IS A JOURNEY... EMBRACE IT… HAVE FAITH AND TAKE THE LEAP... Need all your love and support as always... #JWALAVISHED @jwalagutta1."

For the mehendi ceremony, Jwala opted for a burnt orange-coloured saree as she flaunted her henna-clad hands. The mehendi ceremony was followed by a sangeet and for that, Jwala opted for a multi-coloured floral lehenga. For the haldi ceremony, the bride-to-be opted for a yellow outfit and in the official pictures, Jwala's friends splashed water on her, making it for a perfect memory of the ritual and summing it up beautifully in one frame.
Ahead of the wedding, Jwala Gutta's friends surprised the bride-to-be with a bridal shower and she had taken to her IG handle to give glimpses of the same. For the bridal shower, Jwala looked super happy and pretty in a yellow dress with a bride-to-be sash. Jwala captioned the pictures as "What would I do without my girls... Thank you @amritavir for hosting this amazing day..And wanna thank all my girls making it super special for me."

To give a recap of Jwala Gutta and Vishnu Vishal’s relationship, then it was in September 2020, when he had announced their engagement in a birthday special post for her on social media. Posting pictures with his ladylove in which Jwala happily flaunted her engagement ring, Vishnu had written, "Happy birthday @jwalagutta1. New start to LIFE. Lets be positive and work towards a better future for us, Aryan, our families, friends and people around. Need all your love n blessings guys…#newbeginnings. Thank you @jainbasanth for arranging a ring in d middle of d night #EngagementRingJugaad."
For the uninitiated, Jwala Gutta had started playing badminton at the age of six and in 2000, she had won the Junior National Badminton Championship. In the same year, Jwala had also won the Women's Doubles Junior National Championship and the Senior National Badminton Championship, both in partnership with Shruti Kurien. Speaking about the hurdles in her initial days of journey and how her parents thought that she wasn’t making the right choice, Jwala had stated in an interview with the IANS, "When I took up doubles, I was surrounded by a lot of criticism. Even my parents thought that I wasn't making the right choice, but like I said before, I believe in myself and my skills and it was important for me to make a difference."
