Kajal Pisal has opened up about rumours related to replacing Disha Vakani in 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah'. Here's what she had to say.
It was a few days ago that multiple reports were floating online that Dilip Joshi, Disha Vakani's sitcom show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has found a new 'Daya Ben'. Some reports stated that Kajal Pisal has been roped in to play the role of 'Jethalal's' wife. Her look from the shows' sets also went viral on Instagram. Now, Kajal herself has squashed the rumours that have been circulating. Fans of TMKOC are eager to know who would replace Disha Vakani who created a space in the minds of her fans with her role as 'Daya'
It has been a decade since Disha played the role of 'Daya'. Her standard dialogue of calling 'Jethalal' as, "Tappu ke papa" is still missed. She went on a maternity break since 2017 and ever since then never came back. Asit had even confirmed that there was no scope for the actress to make a comeback and shared rumours of selecting someone for the epic role after auditions. Kajal, now in a recent interview with Zoom shared:
"I am already working on Jhanak, so this is entirely incorrect. Yes, I did audition for Daya Ben in 2022, and those pictures are resurfacing now. But as of now, I can confirm that this is totally fake news."
The rumours of Kajal replacing 'Daya' started making rounds when pictures of the actress went instantly viral on social media. She also justified that the news was false and that she was getting calls and texts related to all the speculations. However, there was no truth to the same.
It was in 2022 when Kajal shared a picture where she was seen decked as 'Dayaben'. She revealed that she had given the audition but never got a call from the makers. She had penned in her caption that the fake news had not at all affected her career. She just felt that playing the role of 'Daya' would give her a big opportunity, but she believed in destiny. Kajal had said:
"As the media twists a lot of things with no accurate information like they are doing now with my statement... Maybe they had done the same with Asit Modi Sir's statement on me. That he said, 'Who Kajal Pisal is?' yes it's true that we don’t know each other either personally or professionally. Maybe Daya was a chance for me but certainly missed it … With due respect, I still look forward to work with you in the near future."
There have been reports doing rounds that Asit Modi, producer of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah had conducted many auditions for the role of 'Daya'. However, it looked like Kajal was not suited as the right bill for the role of 'Daya'. Kajal is best known for acting in shows like Savdhaan India, CID and Adaalat. It was because of her show, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain that she got famous.
